Depois de tirar o São Paulo da disputa pelo Campeonato Brasileiro, Walter Casagrande, porém, acredita que o Tricolor pode sonhar com o bicampeonato da Copa do Brasil. Por ser um torneio de mata-mata, Casão imagina que as forças se equivalem em duelos decisivos.
Convidado do podcast “Tricolaços”, no YouTube, o colunista do UOL imagina que o time comandado por Luis Zubeldía está na briga também pela Libertadores, justamente pelo formato. Ao contrário da Série A, que exige um elenco mais robusto.
“As Copas chegam no mata-mata, são dois jogos.” Aí eu acho que São Paulo tem chances. Fortaleza e o Bahia, acredito que têm menos chances. Agora, SPFC, Botafogo, Flamengo, Palmeiras e Internacional… Esses times, quando chegam no mata-mata, têm peso”, analisou Casagrande.
Campeão em 2023 de forma inédita, o Tricolor sonha em conquistar o torneio pela segunda vez, mas o torneio não está entre as prioridades do clube. Ao que tudo indica, o Tricolor dará uma atenção especial para a Libertadores e o Brasileirão.

Em tratamento de um trauma no joelho, Lucas Moura será desfalque do São Paulo na estreia do Campeonato Brasileiro e Libertadores. O camisa 7 não fala em prazo para retorno, mas está seguindo à risca para voltar o quanto antes.
“Infelizmente, não vou estar presente. Faz parte do futebol, estou totalmente focado em minha recuperação, tratando bastante para voltar o mais rápido possível. Tem que respeitar o processo, não adianta forçar”, disse Lucas.
