Pro diváky byl zápas vysoce atraktivní. Co pro trenéry?
Pro trenéry možná zběsilý, ale celkově krásný. Netaktizovalo se, hrálo se nahoru-dolů. Měli jsme dva zápasy gólovou dietu, teď jsme dali čtyři góly. Takový je fotbal. Tři body byly klíčové, abychom se udrželi ve hře o druhé místo. Kdybychom utkání nezvládli, Sparta by nám odskočila na pět bodů, Baník na čtyři. Hraje se ale ještě o spoustu bodů. Nikdo ještě nic nevyhrál, ani neprohrál.
Nezvládli jste ale začátky poločasů.
Upozorňovali jsme se na to, bohužel jsme tohle nezvládli. Tohle beru jako mínus. Jinak jsme ale byli dostatečně dobří v přechodové fázi. Povedla se nám do zápasu promítnout motivační motta.
Prozradíte víc?
Řekli jsme si, že budeme chtít hrát jako v Evropě. Že do zápasu proti Spartě přeneseme způsob boje, odhodlání, zaťatost, které nás zdobily v Evropské lize. Byli jsme zase schopní presovat, běhat, zastupovat se. Bylo tam z naší strany zase jeden za všechny, všichni za jednoho.
Pomohla vám reprezentační přestávka, že si alespoň někteří hráči mohli odpočinout?
Měli jsme spoustu hráčů na reprezentačních srazech. Ale mentálně si tým odpočinul. Zápasy národního mužstva proti Faerským ostrovům nebo Gibraltaru byly vlastně součástí odpočinku. Nabrali jsme zase energii, měli jsme znovu páru.
Nebyl jste překvapený, že Sparta byla vzadu tak zranitelná?
Máme kvalitní hráče do ofenzivy, soupeři to s námi nemají lehké. Máme Vydru, Durosinmiho, Šulce. Čtyři góly na Letné jsou pro nás velký kompliment.
Co říkáte na výkon Rafia Durosinmiho, který dva góly a dal a na jeden přihrál?
Věřím, že bude dál lepší a lepší. Jeho zásadní uplatnění je v šestnáctce. Když z ní vyběhne, není to úplně podle představ, ale co mu můžu vytknout, když dá dva góly? V kombinaci nejsilnější není, ale v šestnáctce je extrémně nebezpečný, zabiják. Nechtějme po něm driblinky, předfinální kombinaci na jeden dotek. To není jeho parketa.

On Tuesday, the league announced the finalists for the Norris Trophy, which honors the top defenseman. The three finalists for the prestigious award are Cale Makar (Colorado Avalanche), Zach Werenski (Columbus Blue Jackets), and Quinn Hughes (Vancouver Canucks).
