Francia vive un terremoto político en las últimas horas tras la sentencia del Tribunal de París contra Marine Le Pen, principal candidata a relevar a Emmanuel Macron en la presidencia del país en las elecciones de 2027. La lideresa de la ultraderecha gala ha sido condenada por desvío de fondos europeos a cuatro años de prisión y otros cinco de inhabilitación, que se pondrán en marcha de inmediato.
La fundadora de Agrupación Nacional (AN) y otros ocho eurodiputados de la extrema derecha son considerados por la justicia como culpables de emplear documentación falsa, así como estafar en banda organizada y malversar con fondos europeos al Parlamento Europeo.
Así, Le Pen y el resto de acusados son señalados por delitos de abuso de confianza, ocultación y abuso de poder, que habrían ejercido para mover nada menos que 4,1 millones de euros.
Esto pone fin, al menos temporalmente, a la carrera por la presidencia de Marine Le Pen, que aspiraba a obtener el puesto en los comicios franceses de 2027. Sin embargo, la sentencia le impide soñar con ese cargo y pone en su foco más inmediato problemas más acuciantes.

“Es una evidencia que se puso en marcha, se puso en pie un sistema de malversación de fondos públicos europeos, utilizados para pagar a quienes trabajaban para el partido de Marine Le Pen. Y ella fue la principal responsable de la organización de ese sistema de utilización de fondos públicos europeos para pagar las actividades personales y políticas de quienes trabajaban para un partido, en París”, ha expresado Bénédicte de Perthuis, presidente del Tribunal.
“Que las cosas queden claras: no se juzga ninguna actividad política. No es ese el problema. El problema es el uso de dinero público europeo con fines personales”, ha aclarado Perthuis.
