Milagro: hecho no explicable por las leyes naturales y que se atribuye a intervención sobrenatural de origen divino.
Recuerdo perfectamente una noche del mes de diciembre. Era día 23 de diciembre. Ya estábamos todos pensando en los regalos que nos iban a dejar Papá Noel debajo del árbol en el menú de la cena de nochebuena o de lo que íbamos a hacer en la tardebuena. Todos estábamos pensando en reunirnos con la familia, con quién íbamos a estar en una noche que es preciosa y cómo íbamos a pasar las fiestas. Y había algunas personas que se aferraban a un milagro. Un lugar que en la última parte del año 2024 lo había pasado francamente mal por cosas que tenían que ver con el fútbol y por cosas que también tenían que ver con la vida. Concretamente hablo de Valencia.

Había sufrido una de las desgracias naturales más grandes de la historia de Valencia y, además, su equipo, el Valencia, se encontraba en una muy mala situación. Futbolistas que no se encontraban, fichajes que no daban rendimiento, jugadores que parecían otros respecto al año pasado y entre todo esto, aquella noche del día 23 de diciembre, aparecía un nombre desconocido para el gran público en el cual me incluyo: Carlos Corberán, un entrenador del que conocíamos poco y al cual se aferraba el Valencia previo pago de una cantidad importante de dinero a lograr la salvación.
No voy a negar que yo dudaba. Pensaba que este entrenador era un gasto demasiado grande para un Valencia que venía justo con lo contrario y pensaba que entre el finiquito de Baraja y la llegada de Corberán, el Valencia podría haber hecho algún fichaje en verano. Pero la verdad que yo no contaba con que Carlos Corberán fuese uno a enchufar a la gente que el año pasado salvó al Valencia. Yo no contaba con que Carlos Corberán levantase la moral del equipo. Tampoco con que hiciese funcionar a muchos jugadores que venían desde el ostracismo. Y yo no contaba, o bueno, quizá con esto sí contaba, con que Carlos Corberán iba a volver a conectar con la grada de Mestalla e iba a volver a conectar con la grada del Valencia.

El ambiente social que vive Valencia es muy complicado, pero Corberán ha conseguido a base de victorias y de identificación con su gente volver a conectar con todo el valencianismo, que de nuevo, después de un tramo final de año 2024 muy malo, le apetece volver a ir a Mestalla para ver cómo su equipo juega al fútbol y cómo ahora más que en lo que ocurría en la primera vuelta gana. Podemos hablar de muchos jugadores que han dado un paso al frente.
Muchos futbolistas cuyo rendimiento tampoco igual esperábamos y lo han tenido, como es el caso de Umar Sadiq. Pero cuando todo iba mal y ahora todo va bien, el mérito se lo atribuimos yo el primero a ese nombre que el día 23 de diciembre nos sorprendía a todos los que no estamos encima del fútbol inglés. Carlos Corberán todavía no ha obrado el milagro, pero está muy cerca de colocárselo en su marcador.
