Esto obligaba a construir de nuevo la parrilla, lo que le daba tiempo (10 minutos) para cumplir su deseo.

En el Open Británico de 1979, en la última jornada celebrada en lunes, Seve inventó un golpe al borde del reglamento. Llevaba dos golpes de distancia a los demás. Había un viento cruzado de izquierda a derecha, el peor que hay para los golfistas. Pegó el driver a la derecha en ese par 4 y la bola aterrizó al lado de unos coches que estaban en un aparcamiento -de hierba- paralelos a la calle. Había tanta gente que la organización tuvo que habilitar aparcamientos en cualquier parte. El cántabro sabía que desde ahí se podía jugar.
“Se formó un buen revuelo”, recordaba hace unos años el hermano Manuel. “Se tuvieron que mover algunos vehículos. Aunque suene muy mal donde estaba, el fallo no había sido tan grave. A Seve le quedaba un golpe de unos 90 metros a la bandera. Jugó un ‘sand wedge’ y la dejó a seis metros del hoyo. Y la metió”.
Este golpe será recordado por su singularidad y porque permitió al golfista español terminar ganando el título ese año.

Lewis Hamilton sin bajarse del coche
La norma ya ha cambiado, pero Lewis Hamilton, que se empapó el reglamento en 2007, hizo bien uso de él durante el Gran Premio de Europa de aquel año en Nurburgring. Tras una salida de pista, el británico sabía que si se mantenía dentro del vehículo y con el motor encendido, podías recibir ayuda para volver a pista. Hamilton fue devuelto a pista por la grúa. Finalmente no logró puntuar, pero pudo acabar la prueba, no como otros pilotos accidentados.
