Wolves defender Yerson Mosquera has signed a new five-year deal with the club.
The 23-year-old’s previous contract was set to expire in the summer of 2026 but the Colombia international, who has been sidelined since September with an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee, has now signed an extension that will see him stay at the club until 2030.

The new deal also includes a further 12-month option.
“I’m really happy to stay with Wolves,” Mosquera said: “It’s a really good opportunity because I need to get back and I have another chance to play here.
“It was an easy decision for me, because from the first time I spoke with them, I wanted to stay here. I wanted to renew my contract because I want to play for Wolves.
“Now, I need to stay focused, I need to be careful, because my injury was really big, but now I feel confident. I feel really good and I’ll take my time to be back.”
“I’m very appreciative of the club, because they’re giving me another opportunity. I know it’s not easy to do this in my situation, but they believe in me, that is the most important thing.
“I will be back stronger, for sure, I promise the Wolves supporters, the club, and I will give 100 per cent when I’m back.”

Mosquera joined Wolves from Colombian side Atletico Nacional in the summer of 2021, signing a five-year deal with the Premier League club.
The defender, who spent the second half of the 2023/24 season on loan at Villareal, had started all five of Wolves’ league games this season prior to his injury in September. He has also earned four caps for Colombia’s national team, scoring one goal.
Head coach Vitor Pereira said on the Colombian’s contract extension: “Yerson has the profile in a central defender that I like. He’s aggressive, strong, fast, good with the ball, and for me he has all the attributes to help us. I don’t have any doubts that he will fit my system.
“He’s injured, but every time he’s playing with teammates and giving energy. He goes to the stadium and tries to share his smile with everybody. This is the profile that I like to be in my side.

“The Mosquera that I see every day brings good energy to everybody. Inside the pitch is a player that can add something more to us. Outside of the pitch, he’s a leader with a smile, and I’m very happy for him and for us.”
Wolves, who are 17th in the Premier League, are next in action against West Ham United at Molineux on Tuesday.
