Antony Matheus vive días felices en el Betis. Todavía está en el aire si el club verdiblanco encontrará la fórmula para convencer al Manchester United para prorrogar un año más su estancia en el Benito Villamarín, pero hasta entonces, el brasileño disfruta el momento y, tras la victoria del domingo en el derbi, apunta ya a su próximo objetivo: el Barcelona en Montjuïc.
Este martes, a la salida del entrenamiento, Antony ha sido uno de los más aclamados por los aficionados que se han dado cita en la Ciudad Deportiva Luis del Sol. Después de firmar autógrafos, hacerse fotos y bromear desde su coche, ha sorprendido a todos bajándose y cruzando la calle para saludar y posar junto a un grupo de personas mayores de la residencia de Los Bermejales. Un gesto más de implicación de un futbolista que se ha ganado el cariño y el respeto de la gente.
“Muy agradecido por el cariño. Un día antes del partido, en el entrenamiento, la afición estaba ya con un ambiente increíble, así que bueno, lo merece, merece esta victoria que hace mucho tiempo que no se conseguía en LaLiga“, ha dicho Antony a los medios.

El brasileño no ha querido pronunciarse sobre su futuro y las opciones de continuar como verdiblanco: “Como siempre digo, estoy muy feliz aquí, pero es muy pronto para decir. Por eso disfruto aquí todos los días”. Y sobre si se siente ya un bético más, ha dicho: “Sí, sí, me identifico mucho con la afición porque es muy de sentimiento. Yo soy brasileño y también soy así. Y bueno, estoy muy feliz por la victoria de Betis“.
Por último se ha referido a la visita del sábado a Montjuïc: “Sí, un partido muy difícil. Nosotros sabemos la calidad que tiene el Barcelona, pero tenemos que trabajar. Saber las cosas que tenemos que hacer para hacer un gran partido”. ¿Se le puede ganar a los de Flick? Antony lo tiene claro: “Como dije, tenemos que estar preparados, tenemos que mirar las cosas del Barça. Y bueno, no es imposible porque ganamos al Madrid también. Entonces tenemos que estar preparados y vamos a hacer un gran partido”.
