O Botafogo-SP anunciou oficialmente, nesta segunda-feira (31), o início do projeto de futebol feminino, um desejo antigo do clube, que se prepara para a formação das equipes. O primeiro passo foi a formalização de uma parceira estratégica com a Women´s Soccer Academy (WSA), fundada pela ex-jogadora e empresária Mariana Balbão, que assumirá a coordenação do time feminino Tricolor.

O presidente do Conselho Administrativo da Botafogo Futebol SA, Adalberto Baptista, destacou a importância da parceria em nota oficial da assessoria de comunicação do clube: “Estamos muito felizes com essa parceria com a WSA. Tínhamos o desejo antigo de montar uma equipe feminina e agora conseguimos. É uma modalidade que está crescendo e ganhando adeptos, apoiadores e fãs.

Planejamento e formação das Jogadoras

O projeto busca não apenas a criação de um time competitivo, mas também a formação de jogadoras com qualidade. A coordenadora Mariana, revelou as ambições do projeto: “Vamos começar a trabalhar com as categorias de base, mas o nosso projeto é muito mais amplo e inclui a montagem da equipe principal nos próximos anos. Vamos trabalhar para potencializar e desenvolver a modalidade.

Com o apoio da WSA, o Botafogo, planeja uma estrutura de treinamento em alto nível, incluindo a construção de um Centro de Treinamento (CT), que contara com espaços como alojamento e academia para as jogadoras, com previsão de conclusão a partir do segundo semestre.

A WSA, criada por Mariana Baldão em 2022, já é reconhecida no cenário do futebol feminino, com mais de 10 atletas. A academia tem como objetivo potencializar o desempenho das jogadoras e criar oportunidades para que elas se desenvolvam tanto dentro quanto fora de campo. Em 2024, a categoria Sub-15 da WSA alcançou as quartas de final do Campeonato Paulista, destacando-se no torneio.

Primeira seletiva para o time feminino do Botafogo-SP

Dando início a ações imediatas, o Botafogo-SP realizará, neste domingo (6), a primeira seletiva para garimpar novas atletas para as categorias de base do clube. Meninas nascidas em 2010, 2011 e 2012 poderão participar da avaliação, que formará a equipe Sub-15.

A coordenadora destacou a importância da seletiva: “Vamos realizar a primeira seletiva para recrutar novas atletas para a formação da equipe. Este é o primeiro passo para o futuro da equipe principal também.”

Atendendo às exigências da CBF e visão para o futuro

Com a criação do time feminino, o Botafogo-SP começa a atender às exigências da Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF), que tem implementado regulamentos que exigem que as equipe das Séries A, B e C do Campeonato Brasileiro invistam na categoria feminina.
