O atacante norueguês do Manchester City, Erling Haaland, que sofreu uma lesão no tornozelo no último domingo, ficará afastado dos gramados de “cinco a sete semanas”, anunciou o técnico Pep Guardiola nesta terça-feira.
— Os médicos me informaram que Erling ficará fora entre cinco e sete semanas — declarou Guardiola na coletiva de imprensa antes do duelo contra o Leicester pela Premier League.
O atacante de 24 anos se lesionou em um lance com um defensor do Bournemouth durante a vitória do City nas quartas de final da FA Cup, disputada no domingo.
Guardiola espera que Haaland, autor de 30 gols nesta temporada em todas as competições, “esteja de volta para o fim da temporada e o Mundial de Clubes”.
A ausência do artilheiro nórdico é um duro golpe para o City, que, eliminado da Champions League e sem chances de renovar o título da Premier League, tem como objetivos garantir a classificação para a principal competição europeia de clubes no próximo ano, conquistar a taça da FA Cup e tornar-se o primeiro campeão do novo formato do Mundial de Clubes, que será disputado nos Estados Unidos de 15 de junho a 13 de julho.
— Não temos outro jogador com as características específicas de Erling e teremos que nos adaptar a isso — admitiu Guardiola. O City está atualmente na 5ª posição do campeonato, a um ponto do 4º colocado (Chelsea), antes de receber o Leicester na quarta-feira e enfrentar o Manchester United no fim de semana.
— Durante todos esses anos, jogamos de diversas formas no ataque, dependendo das qualidades dos jogadores. Encontraremos uma solução — acrescentou o treinador.
A posição de centroavante pode ser ocupada por Omar Marmoush, contratado em janeiro junto ao Eintracht Frankfurt, embora o egípcio não tenha as mesmas características de um camisa 9 goleador como Haaland.
Se o prazo estimado por Guardiola for cumprido, Haaland poderá estar recuperado a tempo de disputar a final da FA Cup em Wembley, no dia 17 de maio, caso o City elimine o Nottingham Forest na semifinal.
