Das Drama um Bayern-Urgestein Thomas Müller!
Wie SPORT BILD berichtete, war der 35-Jährige (Vertrag läuft im Sommer aus, kam 2000 in die D-Jugend) fest davon ausgegangen, von seinem Jugendklub ein neues Arbeitspapier vorgelegt zu bekommen. Vergangenen November hieß es noch, man wolle gerne mit ihm weitermachen. Und auch die öffentlichen Worte von Max Eberl (51) ließen Entsprechendes erwarten: Falls Müller weitermachen wolle, werde das „wahrscheinlich das kürzeste Gespräch“, hatte der Sportvorstand noch im Januar gesagt.
Jetzt scheint alles anders. Müllers Ende als Spieler von FC Bayern naht. Doch welche Rolle spielte Trainer Vincent Kompany (38) dabei?
Tatsächlich fiel sein Wort schon vor der ersten Verhandlungsrunde vor zwei Wochen ins Gewicht. Aus der war Müller sehr verwundert herausgekommen. Max Eberl (51) und Christoph Freund (47) hatten kein neues Angebot für die Klub-Legende dabei, er war davon ausgegangen, noch bis Sommer 2026 weitermachen zu können.

Spannend: Zuvor hatten sich die beiden Sportchefs mit Trainer Kompany ausgetauscht. Der Belgier schätzt Müller sehr, kennt seine Bedeutung fürs Teamgefüge und die Mannschaft. Der Trainer soll aber auch klargemacht haben, dass Müller im Falle einer weiteren Saison nicht mit mehr Spielzeit rechnen dürfe. Eher im Gegenteil.

Doch als Edel-Reservist ist Müller den Verantwortlichen schlicht zu teuer – mit bis zu 17 Millionen Euro im Jahr gehört der zu den Spitzenverdienern im Team. Auch in einem zweiten Gespräch gab es deswegen kein Angebot an ihn – mit Verweis auf das geschrumpfte Festgeldkonto.
Ein finales Zusammenkommen von Verein und Müller-Seite wird diese Woche erwartet. Dann soll klar sein, was der Klub mit seiner Legende plant.
