El veterano periodista Pedro Piqueras ha estado este miércoles por primera vez con Pablo Motos en ‘El Hormiguero’. El albaceteño ha presentado su libro autobiográfico, ‘Cuando ya nada es urgente’, el cual se encuentra ya a la venta en las librerías de toda España. El que fuera director de informativos de Telecinco se retiró de la televisión a finales de 2023, tras más de 50 años en los medios de comunicación, de los cuales estuvo más de tres décadas en televisión.
Pedro Piqueras y la soledad del presentador de informativos
Pablo Motos ha dado la bienvenida a ‘El Hormiguero’ a un Pedro Piqueras que se ha mostrado muy contento con su primera visita al espacio de entretenimiento de Atresmedia que se emite de lunes a jueves desde las 21.45 horas en Antena 3. “La verdad es que tenía que haber venido mucho antes. Esto no es como un informativo, da gusto“, ha afirmado el invitado tras el caluroso recibimiento del público. El de Requena le ha preguntado si el informativo es muy solitario. “Es una soledad absoluta. Las cámaras, por ejemplo, son autónomas y no hay nadie detrás de ellas, están robotizadas, pero sí que hay un regidor o una regidora que es la comunicación del presentador con realización. Es una soledad muy grande. Lo que pasa es que cuando yo estaba haciendo el informativo, me imaginaba que siempre había alguien detrás“, ha contado el castellano manchego.

Pedro Piqueras, a continuación, ha hablado de su libro, ‘Cuando ya nada es urgente’. “El título del libro se refiere a mi vida en particular, pero yo no diría que es una biografía. Yo digo que me utilizo a mí mismo para contar las cosas que he ido conociendo a lo largo de la vida y para hacer un pequeño homenaje a maestros de la televisión como Pilar Miró, Jesús Hermida… En fin, a mucha gente que creo que debo ser agradecido con todos ellos porque tú y yo somos herederos de toda esa gente que ha hecho muy bien la televisión. Y nosotros tenemos que ser ejemplares para los que vengan después a hacer la televisión. Entonces, hablo de ellos”, ha destacado.
Saber irse, lo más complicado para Pedro Piqueras
El subtítulo de ‘Cuando ya nada es urgente’ es ‘Llegar, estar y saber irse’ y Pablo Motos ha querido conocer cuál es la más difícil de las tres. “El subtítulo tiene una explicación, tiene la explicación de que es un libro de aprendizajes, porque siempre estamos aprendiendo, pero lo más difícil yo creo que es saber irse“, ha apuntado Pedro Piqueras, a quien el conductor de ‘El Hormiguero’ cómo sabe uno que es el momento de irse. “El momento adecuado es cuando percibes que ya no eres el mismo de antes, cuando algo se te hace rutinario, cuando piensas que es mucho mejor irte tú que no que te digan que te vas a ir y antes de que note el público que ya no tienes las mismas cualidades de antes. Yo lo pensé durante mucho tiempo, durante unos cuatro o cinco años, porque pensé que tenía que prepararme para ese momento de la jubilación. Y prepararme fue empezar a hacer cosas que me gustaban como navegar a vela con mis amigos o aprender a tocar el piano, que es en lo que he estado en los últimos tiempos, aunque se me da fatal”, ha explicado el de Albacete. “Al final llegas a la conclusión de que efectivamente tienes que trabajar no sólo lo que has trabajado antes, sino trabajar para el después. Y eso te lo hace todo mucho más fácil. Y, luego, salir bien significa que ocupe tu puesto alguien que estés seguro de que va a hacerlo muy bien. La empresa me pidió mi opinión, di mi opinión sobre Carlos Franganillo y se lanzó a hacer la oferta, que por cierto el jefe de informativos se la hizo en mi propia casa”, ha agregado.
Tras una pausa para la publicidad, Pablo Motos ha tenido curiosidad por saber cómo es un informativo cuando durante la emisión del mismo se produce una información de última hora. “En ese momento, normalmente, tienes un equipo estupendo que se pone en contacto con nuestras emisoras donde sea para buscar la información en directo. Se rompe el informativo y yo siempre he entendido que la ruptura de un informativo por una noticia urgente es una maravilla porque cambia el ritmo del informativo. Es como que pasa algo nuevo, algo sorprendente, siempre y cuando no sean tragedias como la DANA. Pero si se rompe, ya está. A mí mucha gente me pregunta cuándo se cierra el informativo, si dos horas o una hora antes, y yo les digo que no, que el informativo se cierra, exactamente, cuando digo ‘hasta mañana’, porque hasta ese momento puede pasar cualquier cosa“, ha explicado Pedro Piqueras.
