Cayetana Fernández y Carla Tejedo se quedaron muy cerca de poder disputar la ronda final, que tendrá lugar el sábado en Augusta National, pues recordemos que se trata de un torneo a 54 hoyos. No obstante, las 72 jugadores que comenzaron el miércoles este prestigioso evento amateur, podrán entrenar este viernes en el mítico campo que es sede del Masters de Augusta. Las dos primeras jornadas se han celebrado en el Champions Retreat Golf Club.
Lottie Woad, que es la campeona defensora y mejor clasificada amateur, será la gran rival a batir. La inglesa completó su primera ronda de 65 golpes y en la segunda firmó 70. En un momento dado, llegó a tener una ventaja de tres golpes, pero un bogey postrero en el hoyo 8 (par 3) la llevó al coliderato. Por su parte, Andrea Revuelta firmó una de las mejores tarjetas del día, con 66 golpes, mientras que Carla Bernat tiró 68 por segundo día seguido. Ninguna española ha ganado el torneo en las seis ediciones que ya se han llevado a cabo.
