Sechs Top-Teams streiten in der besten Handball-Liga der Welt um den Meistertitel. Berlin, Hannover, Melsungen, Kiel, Flensburg und Magdeburg haben Titelchancen, doch wer ist wirklich DER Favorit?
SPORT BILD checkte die Top 6 der Daikin HBL in den sieben wichtigsten Kategorien. Das Ergebnis ist eindeutig: In drei von sieben liegen die Füchse Berlin vorn, dazu sind sie noch einmal Zweiter. Der Spitzenreiter ist der Top-Favorit – auch wenn man in Berlin wie immer davon nichts hören will.

Die Tabelle ist schön, aber nur eine Momentaufnahme. Die Tabellensituation gibt uns nicht mehr Selbstvertrauen, aber die letzten Spiele schon.“
Überraschend: Der Spruch „Offense wins games, defense wins championships“ greift in der HBL nicht. Die Füchse führen vor allem in den offensiven Kategorien, in Tor und Abwehr sind Teams wie Kiel oder Magdeburg stärker.

So schnitten die Teams in den sieben Kategorien ab:
Die Füchse (819 Treffer) und Flensburg (804) sind die Tormaschinen der Liga. Überragender Mann bei Berlin: Welthandballer Mathias Gidsel (26), der mit 184 Toren hinter Eisenachs Marko Grgic (21/199 Tore) Zweiter der Torjägerliste ist.
Eine Quote von über 70 Prozent ist meisterlich. Auch da glänzt Gigant Gidsel mit 77,3 Prozent. Bei Kiel verballern dagegen vor allen die Rückraum-Shooter Emil Madsen (24/58,4 % Trefferquote) und Eric Johansson (24/51,2 %) viel zu viel.
Auch wenn die Offensive entscheidend ist: Fast 30 Gegentore pro Spiel sind der Grund, warum Flensburg die schlechtesten Titel-Karten hat.
Der Hauptgrund, warum der THW noch mitmischt, heißt Andreas Wolff (34). Der Nationaltorwart führt die Liga mit 230 Paraden und 33,4 % gehaltener Würfe an.
Die einfachen Tore, bei Gegenstößen ohne viel Gegenwehr, können Flensburg und Berlin besonders gut. Gidsel hat allein 33 davon erzielt, Emil Jakobsen (27) 30 für Flensburg.
DHB-Kapitän und Mentalitätsmonster Johannes Golla (27) blockte schon 20 Würfe für Flensburg. Besonders stark: Hannovers Justus Fischer (22/21 Blocks).
In den Handball Performance Index (HPI) fließen fast alle Daten aller Spieler ein, um sie vergleichbar zu machen. 100 ist der Maximalwert. Gidsel hat den höchsten HPI (90 %), im Team-Durchschnitt liegen auch hier die Füchse vorn.
