Revelan pelea interna en el vestuario de la Selección: la “pataleta” por cambios de Néstor Lorenzo

El proceso de Néstor Lorenzo, que venía tan bien y con largo invicto hasta la final de la Copa América 2024, parece haberse roto justo en esa derrota dolorosa contra Argentina en Miami. Después de la derrota con Brasil en Brasilia y del empate con Paraguay en Barranquilla, resultados que llevaron a ‘la Tricolor’ a la sexta posición de las Eliminatorias al Mundial 2026, se empezó a hablar de una reunión de Lorenzo con directivos para definir cambios hacia las fechas de junio y septiembre. Pues la Federación Colombiana de Fútbol (FCF) descartó que se fuera a hacer Comité con todos los directivos y aclaró que la comunicación es constante.

Aun así, los periodistas y fuentes que han llamado la atención sobre esos puntos negativos de la Selección Colombia, mantienen que sí hubo una reunión entre el presidente de la Federación, Ramón Jesurún, y Néstor Lorenzo para tocar varios asuntos sensibles. Pero lo más revelador fue lo que dijo el polémico periodista sobre un incidente en el camerino del estadio Metropolitano de Barranquilla, al final del primer tiempo en el que Colombia le ganaba 2-1 a Paraguay y que después se empató 2-2.

Según Carlos Antonio Vélez, hubo un jugador de peso que no estuvo de cuadro con la idea de hacer cambios para el periodo complementario: “Sé el milagro, pero no el santo, imagino el santo, pero no puedo, todavía, serlo contundente que quisiera en lo que les voy a contar porque me faltan detalles informativos”. Y anticipándose a que lo desmientan o hagan aclaraciones, el integrante de Win Sports, Canal RCN y RCN Radio, resaltó que la información la dio alguien que estaba en el lugar: “Contado me han, fuentes de alta credibilidad, que estaban en el sitio. Lorenzo sí quiso hacer cambios en el entretiempo, para la segunda parte, después del descuento, después del 2-1. Quiso hacer cambios en el vestuario, pero le hicieron pataleta”.

Curándose en salud por no saber el nombre, pero ratificando que hubo un futbolista de ‘la Tricolor’ en contra del DT, Vélez añadió a su versión que el entrenador es el responsable de que estas situaciones empiecen a pasar: “No me hablan de varios, me hablan de un jugador que reprobó la decisión del director técnico. Lo triste de este asunto es que si el técnico quería hacer las modificaciones, y alguien le hizo pataleta y le reprobó el cambio, él (Lorenzo) no se ha impuesto con la verticalidad que exige su posición”. El periodista volvió a explicar que esto realmente habría pasado y no es cuestión de rumores y versiones: “Esto no es un chisme, es una noticia. Ustedes saben que yo lo sé. Aquí no hay ningún bochinche, hay una realidad: en el entretiempo Lorenzo quería hacer un cambio y se le armó un problema”.

Y como ha sido tradición desde que estaba José Pékerman y Néstor Lorenzo era su asistente, Carlos Antonio Vélez mantiene la versión de que el actual seleccionador nacional tiene preferencias por jugadores que no deberían ser llamados: “La culpa la tiene él (Lorenzo) porque le ha dado largas a algunos jugadores, tiene su ‘club de amigos’, les ha tirado la camiseta por encima de la meritocracia, no ha respetado el buen momento de los jugadores y pone a los que les debe agradecer no sé qué, porque no hemos ganado nada… Él creó esos monstruos, esos Frankenstein, ahora es víctima de su propio invento”.

Para cerrar este espinoso tema, por ahora y abriendo un próximo capítulo, el veterano comentarista prometió revelar el nombre en el momento de confirmar las sospechas con sus fuentes: “Cuando tenga confirmado el nombre del que hizo la pataleta, lo voy a contar. Le da más pena a una vaca cuando la ordeñan. Me parece que es irreverente, irrespetuoso para la autoridad del técnico y para la misma selección nacional. No me extraña que eso pase… Se había demorado en ser denunciada por los mismos componentes de la Selección”.

Así se abre una nueva polémica en este contexto de la Selección Colombia, que ya ha sumado situaciones como las respuestas polémicas de Jhon Jader Durán a los periodistas, los reclamos del representante de Luis Díaz por dar el protagonismo a otros jugadores de más bajo nivel y las quejas de James Rodríguez contra Conmebol y FIFA por supuestas “sospechas” en sus decisiones.

Lamentablemente, desde la derrota con Argentina en la Copa América 2024 no se habla tanto de fútbol y en junio vienen los encuentros contra Perú en casa y visitando a los argentinos.
