Legendary producer and DJ Mark Ronson may have just redefined what it means to suffer for your art. During a recent set, the nine-time Grammy winner injured himself in a way no one saw coming-by attempting to shift a stage monitor with one arm. The result? Two torn bicep tendons and an emergency hospital visit.
The 49-year-old hitmaker shared a photo from his hospital bed, flashing a thumbs-up and showing his signature humor even in pain. “That time the house PA was so bad that I tried to one-hand turn the stage monitor toward the crowd mid-mix to give them some extra juice,” he wrote. “Turns out they weigh more than I thought. Two popped biceps and one finished gig later, here we are, baby!”

Still a showman, even in pain
Despite the injury, Ronson didn’t leave fans hanging. He powered through the rest of his performance before heading to the hospital-because, apparently, the show really must go on. The accident might not have involved wild stunts or pyrotechnics, but it’s now etched into music lore as possibly the first time a DJ tore his muscles mid-set.
Fans were shocked but impressed, flooding Ronson’s social media with well wishes-and some jokes. Music stars like Diplo, Sammy Hagar, and Josh Groban were among the many who reacted to the post. Diplo quipped, “Looks like you just gave birth,” while others like Sean Lennon and Rita Wilson sent heartfelt messages urging him to get better soon.
