Em busca da primeira vitória
O começo da defesa do título da Libertadores por parte do Botafogo não foi o desejado pela torcida, com a derrota para a Universidad de Chile fora de casa. Jogando como mandante na competição pela primeira, o Glorioso ao menos virá com o impacto de sua primeira vitória no Brasileirão, esta contra o Juventude.
Para a partida desta terça-feira, Renato Paiva espera para saber se Bastos poderá jogar, este ainda em recuperação física. Expulso contra La U, Igor Jesus é desfalque certo, assim como deverão ser Nathan Fernandes e Danilo Barbosa. A tendência é que o time que venceu os gaúchos seja repetido contra os venezuelanos, com a grande dúvida sendo quem entra no ataque botafoguense.
Também houve derrota na estreia para o Carabobo, que perdeu em casa para o Estudiantes. Em sua primeira partida como visitante nesta Libertadores, a equipe da Venezuela vem liderando o campeonato local, tendo vencido o Caracas neste final de semana para ampliar sua vantagem no topo da tabela frente ao Deportivo La Guaira.
A equipe de Diego Merino só tem uma ausência por lesão, a de Loureins Martínez, além de outra por suspensão, esta de Tortolero (expulso diante do time argentino). O treinador deverá neste Botafogo x Carabobo mandar praticamente a mesma formação da primeira partida, exceto pela mudança no setor ofensivo, com Berríos sendo candidato a jogar.
