College basketball fans were treated to a pair of high-stakes matchups Saturday night in San Antonio
The Final Four of the NCAA men’s tournament delivered two compelling contests.

Florida & Houston earn national championship bids
In the opener, the Florida Gators stunned their SEC rival Auburn Tigers with a 79-73 victory, earning their first trip to the national championship game since 2007.
Walter Clayton Jr. took control of the game for the Gators, racking up 34 points and pushing Florida through in a tightly contested battle.
The nightcap was no less dramatic.
The Houston Cougars erased a late double-digit deficit to defeat Duke in an emotional finish.
Despite a standout 27-point effort from Cooper Flagg, Duke faltered in the final minutes as Houston closed the game on a 9-0 run.
L.J. Cryer led the Cougars with 26 points, including critical free throws down the stretch that sealed their spot in Monday night’s championship game, their first appearance in the title matchup since 1984.
While the on-court drama captured headlines, the NCAA also made waves off the court with the announcement of the night’s attendance: 68,252 fans packed into the Alamodome, signaling a strong resurgence of in-person fan interest, despite some grumbles about the tournament’s overall excitement.
Reactions to the turnout were mixed on social media.
“That is a lot of people!!” one fan posted enthusiastically.
Others called it “the way it should be” and praised the electric atmosphere.
Still, a few attendees voiced concerns about the seating arrangement and sightlines, noting that “less than half could even see.”
Another unimpressed viewer called the tournament “boring as hell” despite the solid turnout.
As Florida eyes a return to its championship-winning past and Houston seeks its first-ever title, Monday night’s game promises a memorable finish to a historic March Madness run.
