„Wir wollen am Ende der Saison unseren besten Basketball spielen.“ Das sagen die Trainer der Easycredit BBL im Sommer zu Beginn jeder Vorbereitung. Die Zeit, von der sie dabei reden, ist JETZT! Denn es ist eng wie selten. In der Tabelle trennen den Dritten Niners Chemnitz und den 14. Alba Berlin gerade mal zwei Siege!

Um sich im Endspurt der Hauptrunde im heißen Kampf um die Play-off-Plätze durchzusetzen, konnten die 17 Teams bis zum 31. März personell nachlegen. Seitdem müssen die Trainer zum Ende mit dem Personal auskommen, was da ist.

Dabei durfte jedes Team seit Saisonbeginn maximal vier Profis nachverpflichten. Aus ganz unterschiedlichen Gründen: Verletzungen, vorherige Fehleinkäufe, sportliche Krisen oder schlicht, weil man aus Kostengründen mit einem kleineren Kader gestartet war.

Bis zum Transferschluss verpflichteten die 17 Erstligisten diese Saison zusammen 45 Spieler nach. SPORT BILD zieht die große Transfer-Bilanz. Wer verstärkte sich am besten – wer zog die meisten Nieten?

[–>Zwei Klubs verzichten komplett auf Nachverpflichtungen. Die Sommer-Transfers der MLP Academics Heidelberg und Löwen Braunschweig saßen. Von daher verzichteten die Verantwortlichen darauf, nachzulegen.

Für Ratiopharm Ulm gilt dasselbe – der Bayern-Jäger holte dann aber am letzten Tag doch noch Nate Hinton (25) dazu, um nach dem Saison-Aus des NBA-erfahrenen Isaiah Roby (27/Knie) mehr Tiefe im Kader zu haben. Die kriselnden Telekom Baskets Bonn beschränkten sich ebenfalls auf einen Zugang: Die Verpflichtung des Letten Rihards Lomasz (28) war ein der letzten Amtshandlungen von Ex-Trainer Roel Moors (46); kurz darauf wurde er gefeuert.

Was auffällig ist: Von den Top 6 der Tabelle hat kein einziger Klub sein Kontingent ausgereizt.

Der größten Durchlauf hatten die MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg. Der mittlerweile entlassene Trainer John Patrick (57) war ohnehin für seine „Hire-and-Fire“-Politik berüchtigt. Auch wenn die Ludwigsburger natürlich auch „nur“ vier Spieler nachverpflichten durften. Aber schon vorm Saisonstart wurden Tomislav Buljan (22), Ta‘Lon Cooper (25) und Mike Miller (27) wieder weggeschickt und ersetzt. Insgesamt standen diese Saison in der Barockstadt rekordverdächtige 26 Spieler im Kader! Trotzdem reicht es aktuell nur für Platz 11.

Zweiter Transfer-Verlierer ist Absteiger BG Göttingen, die trotz vier Neuer (und einem Trainer-Tausch) bislang nur ein Spiel gewinnen konnte. Was aber angesichts des kleinsten Spieler-Etats (1,706 Mio. Euro) auch schlicht eine Frage der Qualität der geholten Spieler war.

Am besten verstärkt haben sich die Niners Chemnitz und – Überraschung! – die Rostock Seawolves.

Chemnitz stolperte durch die ersten Monate der Saison, weil im Sommer kein gleichwertiger Ersatz für die abgewanderten Leistungsträger gefunden wurde. Dann mistete Trainer Rodrigo Pastore (52) aus, schickte vier Mann weg und holte vier Neue. Seitdem ist mit den Sachsen wieder zu rechnen.

Größter Coup war die Rückkehr-Aktion vom letztjährigen MVP-Kandidaten Kevin Yebo (29) von den Bayern. Der schon im Oktober geholte Aufbauspieler Victor Bailey (26/USA) schlug voll ein und wird perfekt durch Jacob Gilyard (26/USA) ersetzt, der mit 6,7 Vorlagen zu den Top-3-Assist-Gebern der Liga zählt. Nur Flügelmann Damien Jefferson (27/USA) blieb bisher unauffällig.

Genau wie in Chemnitz korrigierten die Rostocker im Laufe der Saison klug die Missverständnisse des Sommers. Zudem mussten sie auf den Abgang von Godwin Omenaka (24/nach China) sowie das Saison-Aus von Robin Amaize (31/Handbruch) und D‘Shawn Schwartz (26/Brustmuskel) reagieren.

Für die Aufbau-Position holten sie als Weihnachtsgeschenk Publikumsliebling JeQuan Lewis (30/USA) aus China zurück. Der wuchtige Flügel Malik Osborne (26/USA) schlug durch seine Rebound- und Scorer-Fähigkeiten sofort ein. Pedro Bradshaw (26/USA) hat einen guten Distanzwurf und ist als Allrounder einer der drei effektivsten Rostocker. Nijal Pearson (27/USA) ist auf Anhieb in der Defensive der beste Ball-Dieb. So könnte es trotz eines strammen Rest-Programms am Ende nach den verpassten Play-offs in der Vorsaison nun zumindest für einen Play-In-Platz reichen.
