El PSG ha pasado de estar en la cuerda floja en este nuevo formato de la Champions a ser uno de los favoritos al título. Este miércoles alcanza en su cruce de cuartos de la Champions ante el Aston Villa los cien partidos en el banquillo del Parque de los Príncipes. Y lo hace en su mejor momento, algo extensible al club y a la afición, enamorados a partes iguales del juego del equipo, al margen de los buenos resultados, y tras cosechar esta semana pasada el título de campeón de la Ligue 1 con una superioridad aplastante, nada más y nada menos que a falta de ocho jornadas para el final del campeonato
El PSG logró además enderezar el rumbo en Europa, donde el punto de inflexión fue quizá el triunfo aplastante ante el City y la posterior remontada en los octavos en Anfield ante un Liverpool que era a priori el equipo más en forma de Europa con el Barça. El equipo de Luis Enrique se ha ganado a pulso ahora mismo ese papel, mientras que en la Ligue 1 el entrenador tiene al alcance convertir al PSG en el primer equipo que termina el campeonato galo sin derrotas. Hasta ahora, solo han cedido cinco empates en las 28 jornadas disputadas.

Mejor media de puntos en la Ligue 1
Luis Enrique firma desde que llegó al PSG 69 triunfos, 19 empates y solo 11 derrotas en 99 encuentros, lo que supone casi un 70% de victorias. Hace una media de 2,28 puntos por partido y 2,51 tantos por encuentro. En lo que respecta solo a la Ligue 1, la media de puntos es de 2,42 por encuentro, el mejor registro de un entrenador del PSG desde la campaña 2011-2012, con Qatar recién aterrizado al club. El equipo de Luis Enrique firma en el campeonato galo 2,6 tantos por partido. De la etapa de Nasser al Khelaifi, sólo le supera Thomas Tuchel, con 2,67 tantos por encuentro.
Nadie esperaba tanto y menos tras la marcha de Mbappé
Luis Enrique siempre creyó que su PSG no solo podría salir adelante sin su gran estrella, Kylian Mbappé, sino que el plan pasaba por mejorarlo. Muchos no le creyeron ya que el ahora delantero del Madrid promediaba más de 40 goles por temporada. “Ahora no tenemos un jugador que nos marque tantos goles, pero los podemos hacer entre todos”, dijo el entrenador en una rueda de prensa. Este pasada sábado, al entrenador le recordaron sus palabras nada más arrancar la temporada, en la que afirmaba convencido de que este PSG sería más fuerte.
“Repito. La temporada pasada fue muy buena, en la que conquistamos varios títulos. Esta temporada es claramente mejor, no solo por los números, que lo mejoran, sino por la capacidad del equipo de jugar y darle la vuelta a cualquier situación. Hemos estado en situaciones delicadas, incluso en Champions, con pocos puntos cuando quedaban tres partidos. El equipo ha demostrado una madurez importante. Soy muy afortunado de tener a estos jugadores tan versátiles”, insistió el asturiano.
Dembélé, una sorpresa para todos
Es evidente que el PSG ha dado un paso al frente, tanto en lo que respecta a muchos de los que estaban, como el acierto en los jóvenes fichajes. En el primer plano, se puede resaltar a Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha, Achraf o Barcola, pero sobre todo a Dembélé, que se ha destapado como un goleador implacable, en el papel de Mbappé, algo que ni siquiera Luis Enrique esperaba. La idea del asturiano de colocarle de falso 9 resultó un éxito. Y que el ex azulgrana es el máximo anotador de lo que va de 2025, con 25 tantos en apenas 21 partidos, y le siguen el nigeriano Víctor Osimhen del Galatasaray y Kylian Mbappé, ambos con 19.
En lo que respecta a los fichajes, William Pacho es el mejor ejemplo. El central, por el que se pagaron 70 millones al Eintracht, es el jugador con más minutos de toda la plantilla, por encima de Donnarumma, y antes del portero le siguen Achraf, Vitinha, Barcola y Joao Neves. Nasser al Khelaifi y Luis Campos no abandonaron con la marcha de Mbappé la nueva política en la que el equipo está por encima de las individualidades, con pleno control para el entrenador, y con la apuesta por jóvenes talentos o jugadores muy concretos que se ajustan a las necesidades del técnico.
Joao Neves también fue una operación importante (60 millones al Benfica) pero era una apuesta de 19 años que ya se ha convertido en un pilar del equipo en el medio campo pese a la enorme competencia. Cerca de dar este último salto esta otro joven francés, Désiré Doué, que deslumbró en la segunda parte de Anfield. A sus 19 años, es ya uno de los mejores talentos del fútbol europeo y suma cinco goles en sus 25 partidos.
Un fichaje de invierno, la guinda del pastel
El PSG no dudó en acudir al mercado de invierno en busca de una de las necesidades de Luis Enrique. Y lo cierto es que Khvicha Kvaratskhelia ha dado el resultado que esperaban. Su partido en Anfield despejó también cualquier duda y demostró que no ha necesitado mucho tiempo para encajar en la maquinaria de Luis Enrique. Desde que debutó ante el Stade de Reims, ha sido titular en seis de los ocho partidos de Ligue 1 y ha participado en todos, con dos goles y tres asistencias. Algo parecido en la Champions, en la que solo fue suplente en su estreno europeo ante el Brest. El club pagó otros 70 millones al Nápoles, pero parecen bien invertidos.
El club, encantado con Luis Enrique
El presidente del PSG no se ha cansó de decir que habían fichado al mejor entrenador del mundo. Lo hizo cuando la cosa no iba tan bien y ahora con más motivo. En el club estaban convencidos de que el juego del equipo sería la mejor baza para contentar a una afición que había puesto todos estos años sus ilusiones en Mbappé y que iba a esperar una buena respuesta del grupo para no cargar contra la gestión del club y cansada de ver desfilar a estrellas rutilantes que no lograron el sueño dorado de la Champions.
En la zona noble del Parque de los Príncipes se insiste que el resultado de la Champions no va a cambiar nada porque creen que están en el buen camino y que se está haciendo un grupo para competir con los mejores en los próximos años. El problema, entre comillas, es que los resultados y el juego han hecho creer a todos de que este año puede ser el que por fin se gane la Copa de Europa. El Aston Villa de Emery y de Asensio, cedido por los parisinos, es el próximo obstáculo.
