A Aston Martin anunciou nesta terça-feira (8) que Fernando Alonso vai dar lugar ao brasileiro Felipe Drugovich no primeiro treino livre para o GP do Bahrein de Fórmula 1.
” Tenho me preparado no simulador para me familiarizar com o carro, e o Bahrein é um circuito que conheço bem e gosto muito de pilotar. Estou animado para contribuir e fornecer à equipe os dados de que ela precisa para dar o melhor de si neste fim de semana. Agradeço a toda a equipe pelo apoio constante”, explicou Drugovich no comunicado oficial do time inglês.
Drugovich no TL1 é exigência da FIA
O fato é que a prescença de Felipe Drugovich no lugar de Fernando Alonso no TL1 faz parte de uma exigência da FIA que estabelece que pilotos reservas tenham 1 hora de pista em quatro etapas ao longo do calendário ao todo. Assim, Alonso cederia seu cockpit mais uma vez e Lance Stroll teria dois GPs pendentes.
Andy Cowell, chefe da equipe de Silverstone, reforça a confiança no trabalho de Felipe Drugovich que vem a partir dos simuladores.
“(Ele) nos fornece feedbacks valiosos que impulsionam o desenvolvimento do carro. Felipe é uma pessoa confiável e estamos confiantes de que ele fará um ótimo trabalho no TL1 e contribuirá para nossa preparação para o fim de semana da corrida”, explicou o Team Principal.
Lawrance Stroll deve vender ações na F1
Ainda nos bastidores da Aston Martin, o magnata Lawrance Stroll anunciou que deve vender sua parte minoritária nas ações da equipe de F1. O valor seria de 75 milhões de Libras (cerca de R$ 264 milhões) atuais. O foco de Stroll é aumentar sua influência sobre a divisão de carros de luxo.
Brasil terá dois pilotos na F1 depois de dois anos
Com a prescença de Felipe Drugovich, ele se junta a Gabriel Bortoleto da Sauber em um fim de semana de corrida. A última vez que dois pilotos do Brasil estiveram oficialmente em uma etapa de Fórmula 1 foi em 2023, quando Pietro Fittipaldi da Haas e o mesmo Drugovich trabalharam no TL1 de Abu Dhabi.
