The Dallas Cowboys don’t have a ton going for them at the moment. Coming off of a disappointing season, Jerry Jones‘ front office hasn’t made any big splashes in free agency, while also taking their sweet time with Micah Parsons‘ new contract extension.
There’s still the 2025 NFL Draft to go, and there’s plenty of time for a Parsons contract to get done before the season. Fans still have some hope that big moves are coming this offseason, but any type of positive PR is welcome for a team that seems to constantly have a negative aura around it. The most recent bit of news surrounding the team isn’t Earth-shattering, but it’s at least interesting.

DeMarvion Overshown to wear No. 0 for Cowboys, just like he did at Texas
One of the best players on the Cowboys defense, DeMarvion Overshown, is set to wear No. 0 during the 2025 season. That has never been done before by a player in franchise history.
The NFL began allowing players to wear No. 0 starting in the 2023 season. Many players were eager to wear the number, but Cowboys players clearly weren’t too enthused about it, as no one took the number in 2023 and 2024.
Overshown will be the first for Dallas, and he’s a great candidate. He wore No. 0 during his collegiate career with the Texas Longhorns. Overshown proved to be a game-changer for the Cowboys as a rookie last year, starting 12 games and filling the stat sheet as a do-it-all linebacker.
