The WBC has ordered Shakur Stevenson to defend his lightweight title against number one contender William Zepeda. The organization has given them an ultimatum of 30 days to reach an agreement, if they do not, a purse bid would be held on May 6.

And recently, Stevenson confessed that he turned down an offer from Turki Alalshikh to fight Zepeda in the summer.
“Turki promised me a number and now he’s going back on that number he promised me and sending his towel boys to pass me the information… Mr. De La Hoya, now let’s negotiate,” Stevenson wrote
“I’m still champion and I’m not retiring from anything. If we can’t reach an agreement, then it will be by purse bid.”
