Der SC Magdeburg marschiert weiter – und feiert seinen Gegner!
Magdeburg bleibt im Titelrennen, schnappt sich im Nachholspiel gegen Erlangen einen ungefährdeten 30:19-Sieg – und liegt damit weiter nur einen Minuspunkt hinter der Tabellenspitze.
Der lauteste Applaus des Abends? Gilt einem, der gar nicht spielt: SCM-Legende Marko Bezjak (38)! Der Slowene kehrt zum letzten Mal als Gegner zurück in die GETEC Arena – und wird gebührend gefeiert. Zehn Jahre spielte der Slowene in Magdeburg, holte mit dem Klub bis Sommer 2023 alle Titel.

Noch trägt „Bezo“ das Trikot von Erlangen, doch nach der Saison ist Schluss – dann wird der Fan-Liebling Trainer in seiner Heimat Ormoz. In Magdeburg bleibt er unvergessen. Trotz Oberschenkel-Problemen reiste er mit – nur zum Zuschauen.
Im Erlangen-Kader fehlt Bezjak ebenso wie ein weiterer Ex-SCM-Star: Nationalspieler Christoph Steinert (35) musste kurzfristig krankheitsbedingt passen.
Auf der Platte gibt der SCM von Beginn an den Ton an. Nach acht Minuten führen die Hausherren bereits mit vier Toren (5:1). Doch Erlangen bäumt sich auf, kämpft sich zurück (8:9/20.). Das passt Coach Bennet Wiegert (43) gar nicht.
