Prince Harry is in the news seemingly more than ever as of late. That would appear impossible given his stunning move to step down from royal duties sent shockwaves throughout the United Kingdom, but it’s been a busy last few weeks for Harry, although not always for the best reasons. Despite not wanting extra media attention, Harry has been part of some controversial moments recently.
First came his bombshell resignation from one of his charities, Sentebale, following damaging allegations by its chairwoman. Harry then flew to the UK in order to continue fighting a delicate legal matter, his diminished security detail in the country since stepping away from the royal family. Harry somehow gains more enemies every day, with one of his most notable being U.S. President Donald Trump. While we haven’t heard Trump speak much of Harry since he took over as President, he may sooner than later.
Prince Harry’s awkward moment at the Invictus Games goes viral
Prince Harry visits Ukraine to meet with wounded war veterans
That’s because Harry is currently visiting Ukraine as part of “his ongoing work with wounded veterans”. Harry is meeting with victims of the Russo-Ukrainian War, which is currently ongoing. According to the Associated Press, it was an unannounced visit.
Harry visited the Superhumans Center, an orthopedic clinic in Lviv that treats and rehabilitates wounded military personnel and civilians, to see top-notch services provided in a country in the midst of war. The center provides prosthetics, reconstructive surgery and psychological help free of charge… Harry was accompanied by a contingent from the Invictus Games Foundation, including four veterans who have been through similar rehabilitation experiences.
Helping veterans is a cause that’s near and dear to Harry’s heart. Obviously, it’s a fantastic gesture on his part. But Ukraine is a delicate subject for Trump, who clashed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Oval Office in February.
Trump has mentioned the possibility of deporting Harry from the United States in the past, although this is obviously not reason enough to do so. The US is still considered an ally to Ukraine, despite Trump’s rift with Zelenskyy.
