Com passagem pela seleção brasileira sub-17, Whalacy assinou contrato de dois anos com o Vasco, com opção de renovação por mais três.
No Coritiba, onde teve destaque nacional, Whalacy conquistou os estaduais sub-20 em 2022 e 2023. A ideia é que o atacante chegue ao Vasco para atuar pelo cruz-maltino no estadual e no Campeonato Brasileiro da categoria.
