O cenário era todo favorável para o Fluminense nesta quinta-feira: voltava a mandar um jogo no Maracanãzinho, depois de 42 anos, e tinha um ginásio lotado ao seu favor para chegar à primeira semifinal de Superliga feminina da história. Mas o Sesi Bauru, que não tinha nada a ver com isso, tratou de estragar a festa das “guerreiras do vôlei”. A equipe comandada por Guilherme Schmitz foi derrotada por 3 a 1, de virada, e deu adeus à competição.
Após o fim do jogo, a oposta e maior pontuadora do tricolor na competição, Ariane Helena, lamentou a derrota. Ela afirmou que o time teve erros que não cometia há um bom tempo, mas reforçou o feito desta temporada:
— A gente lotou esse ginásio depois de muito tempo. Acho que o Fluminense fez muita história nessa temporada, independente do resultado de agora. E eu acho que é o que vai ficar marcado. Obviamente, a gente queria ter dado continuidade, mas sabemos da grande equipe do outro lado, então não tem como tirar o mérito de lá, mas também tem o mérito da nossa equipe, por tudo que a gente conquistou.
No embalo da torcida, o tricolor esteve à frente do placar praticamente todo o primeiro set. Defendendo muito, obrigava o adversário a se esforçar para conquistar cada ponto e conseguiam aproveitar boa parte dos contra-ataques. A superioridade foi convertida no marcados, e as donas da casa largaram na frente com parcial de 25 a 20.
A partir dali, o jogo inverteu de retórica. O Sesi Bauru voltou mais concentrado para virar as bolas, e o sistema defensivo, assim como o bloqueio, passou a funcionar. Kasiely entrou em quadra e, ao lado de Acosta, comandou a reação da equipe paulista, que conseguiu um imponente 25 a 13 para deixar tudo igual.
O Fluminense foi para o terceiro set mais ligado e voltou a dificultar a vida das visitantes. No entanto, tinha dificuldades para tirar o Sesi da frente do marcador. No final dele até conseguiu esboçar uma possível virada, mas deixou três pontos consecutivos escaparem e foi derrotado por 25 a 21.
O quarto set começou como todos os outros, com muito equilíbrio. No entanto, o Sesi Bauru voltou a tomar controle das ações a partir de um certo ponto e não deu chances ao tricolor. A equipe paulista chegou a ter dez pontos de match-point. No final, venceu por 25 a 17 e fechou a partida.
O Sesi Bauru terá pela frente o confronto mais difícil desta Superliga: vai enfrentar o Praia Clube, líder da fase de liga, com apenas um jogo dentro de casa e dois fora.
