O CEO do Fortaleza, Marcelo Paz, afirmou que o clube pedirá rigor máximo da Conmebol após o cancelamento do jogo com o Colo-Colo em virtude da invasão de torcedores no gramado do Estádio Nacional, em Santiago, no Chile — do lado de fora, dois adolescentes morreram atropelados pela polícia. Paz exige que o time seja declarado vencedor da partida. A delegação partiu da capital chilena por volta de 12h30 em voo fretado para a capital cearesene.
— O Fortaleza tem que ficar com os pontos, o regulamento prevê isso — afirmou o dirigente, acrescentando. — Cabe à Combebol entender que tenha que ter outras punições além dessa. O Colo-Colo é rescindente, não é o primeiro problema com a torcida deles. Tudo é responsabilidade do mandante, inclusive o bem-estar do visitante desde a chegada ao país. Tudo o que aconteceu fora e dentro é de responsabilidade do Colo-Colo.
Paz lamentou o episódio que mancha mais uma vez a principal competição do continente. Ele ressaltou que o ambiente hostil no estádio começou bem antes de a bola rolar. A morte dos dois torcedores, inclusive, aconteceu meia hora antes do início da partida.
Dentro do Estádio Nacional, os torcedores do Fortaleza, segundo ele, foram recebidos pela torcida adversária com isqueiros, pilhas, garrafas, sinalizadores.
— A entrada em campo da torcida foi a culminância. Vimos torcedores pulando de um setor para outro, com rosto coberto para não serem identificados, temos vídeos da torcida jogando isqueiro, pilha… Tudo isso aconteceu antes do episódio final e nem sabíamos o que tinha acontecido fora. Ficamos assustados, éramos minoria e não há polícia dentro dos estádios — conta.
Paz contou que a decisão de correr para o vestiário foi dos jogadores em busca de proteção. Ele e outros dirigentes estavam num camarote do estádio e, por segurança, foram impedidos de deixar o local até boa parte da torcida do Colo-Colo ir embora.
— O camarote fica do lado oposto ao vestiário. O caminho até lá passava pela saída da torcida do Colo-Colo. Ficamos meia hora incomunicáveis com o vestiário. Os jogadores estavam nos esperando. Chegamos lá, e a decisão era que não tinha condições de jogar. Soubemos que o Colo-Colo também não queria. Esperamos a decisão do cancelamento — disse o CEO, afirmando que apesar do susto, os jogadores e a comissão técnica estão bem para o jogo do Brasileirão no fim de semana. — Ninguém sofreu agressão direta ou escoriações. Mas somos seres humanos e sentimos, claro.
A torcida do Fortaleza que foi ao estádio também conseguiu sair em segurança. Segundo Paz, o diretor de operações do clube deu apoio aos 150 torcedores enquanto esperavam a autorização para deixar o estádio. Todos eles foram encaminhados para ônibus fretados na saída do estádio.
Sobre o temor de algum tipo de retaliação do Colo-Colo e sua torcida no jogo de volta, caso haja punições severas, Paz disse que não é o momento para pensar nisso. A partida na Arena Castelão está marcada para o dia 6 de maio.
— Falta muito tempo, e estamos no calor do momento. Temos boa relação com os dirigentes do Colo-Colo — disse.
