Über 20.000 Zuschauer werden am Wochenende die Lanxess Arena in Köln in einen emotionalen Handball-Tempel verwandeln. Millionen Fans werden das Spektakel, das Lidl Final4, am TV verfolgen.

Für Juri Knorr (24), der mit den Rhein-Neckar Löwen am Samstag im Halbfinale auf den THW Kiel (16.10 Uhr, live bei Dyn/Anzeige und ARD) trifft, ist es vorerst das letzte Pokal-Final4.

Knorr verlässt die Daikin Handball-Bundesliga am Saisonende. Vor zwei Jahren gewann er überraschend den Pokal in Köln. Gelingt solch ein Husarenritt erneut? Knorr über das Pokalfinale, seinen Abschied von den Rhein-Neckar Löwen sowie den kuriosen Trainerwechsel bei seinem neuen Klub Aalborg.

SPORT BILD: Herr Knorr, im Sommer wechseln Sie nach Aalborg. Das Pokal-Final4 am Wochenende in Köln ist Ihre letzte Chance, mit den Rhein-Neckar Löwen einen Titel zu gewinnen. Überwiegt Vorfreude oder Wehmut?

Juri Knorr (24): Ich freue mich extrem darauf. Es ist eine riesige Chance für uns als Mannschaft. Aber auch für mich persönlich ist es das ganz große Highlight jetzt zum Schluss meiner Löwenzeit.

Vor zwei Jahren wurden Sie mit den Löwen in Köln Pokalsieger. Haben Sie zuletzt öfter daran gedacht?

Es kommen viele schöne Erinnerungen von vor zwei Jahren hoch. Olympia 2024 in Paris war für sich ultrakrass, aber das Final Four in Köln ist generell der geilste Handball-Ort der Welt. Ich freue mich auf die Tage. Ich weiß gar nicht, wie viele Tickets ich wieder für Familie und Freunde bestellt habe. Ich weiß aber, dass sehr viele dort sein werden.

[–>Können Sie den Triumph von 2023 wiederholen?

Es war ein magisches Wochenende damals. Das Halbfinale gegen Flensburg war wie ein Rausch. Alles hat funktioniert. Wir haben dann auch im Finale gegen Magdeburg kaum Fehler gemacht. Es muss wieder ein ganz besonderes Wochenende für uns werden. Mir ist bewusst, dass da viel zusammenkommen muss. Aber ich bin optimistisch.

Im Halbfinale wartet Kiel. Ihr Vater hat für den THW gespielt, Sie waren oft in der Halle. Was ist das für eine Partie, speziell für Sie?

Natürlich wäre Balingen vermutlich der leichteste Gegner gewesen. Aber ich bin überzeugt, wenn du dir den Titel wirklich verdienen willst, wenn du wirklich dieses maximale Momentum haben willst, dann müssen wir Kiel schlagen. Es geht nur darüber.

[–>In zwei Monaten endet Ihre Zeit in Deutschland, und Sie ziehen nach Aalborg. Haben Sie das schon richtig realisiert?

Ja, so langsam kommt es an, weil wir uns natürlich auch schon um den Umzug kümmern. Ich freue mich auf das, was kommt. Aber ich bin natürlich auch ein bisschen wehmütig und denke: Krass, wie schnell die vier Jahre bei den Löwen rumgegangen sind. Vier Jahre in Heidelberg gelebt zu haben, in so einer coolen, schönen Stadt – das ist auch ein Privileg. Bei jedem Heimspiel in der SAP-Arena denke ich darüber nach, dass man bei all dem Stress und dem Druck, den man sich so macht, doch alles mehr genießen sollte.

Trainer Maik Machulla, der Sie in Aalborg haben wollte, ist nicht mehr bei dem Klub. Er übernimmt nach Ihrem Abschied im Sommer die Rhein-Neckar Löwen …

Er ist eine Ironie des Schicksals, verrückt. Auf der anderen Seite war es so, dass die erste Kontaktaufnahme stattgefunden hat, bevor Maik zum Verein kam. Ich habe mich für das Projekt, für den Verein entschieden, für die richtig coole He­rausforderung, in so einer absoluten Top-Mannschaft in Europa zu spielen. Natürlich wäre es gut für mich gewesen, mit ihm dort zusammenzuarbeiten. Ich glaube, das hätte gut funktioniert. Ich denke, dass er sich jetzt sehr freut auf das, was bei den Löwen auf ihn wartet. Und ich freue mich auf meine Aufgabe in Aalborg.

Sie sprechen Englisch und Spanisch fließend. Wie gut ist Ihr Dänisch eigentlich?

Ich kann jetzt noch nicht so viel sagen, aber ich lerne. Ich muss es ja auch, weil ich der Einzige dort sein werde, der nicht in seiner skandinavischen Landessprache kommunizieren kann. Aber Dänisch ist schon eine komische Sprache. Da muss ich nicht drum herumreden, sie ist schon eigen. Die Aussprache ist das Schwierigste. Daran muss ich mich gewöhnen.
