Kylie Kelce has been making waves in the podcast world, but even she didn’t expect to land Michelle Obama on her guest list. On a recent episode of Not Gonna Lie, Kelce shared how nervous she was before interviewing the former First Lady – and how meaningful the moment turned out to be.
“I was very nervous to speak to Mrs. Obama,” she confessed, responding to a fan question about how she stayed composed. “I had full pit sweat – like, what are we even doing?” Despite months of chatting with major names like Kaitlin Olson and Chelsea Handler, Kelce admitted this interview hit differently.

Her anxiety wasn’t just about Obama’s stature. For Kylie, who was 18 when the Obamas moved into the White House, the First Lady represented something deeply personal: a symbol of strength, partnership, and power. “Seeing you as a powerful figure alongside your husband… it really stuck with me,” she told Obama during the episode.
When two power moms connect
The interview went far beyond nerves and nostalgia. The two moms – Kylie with four daughters and Michelle with two – found common ground in parenting, balance, and finding moments of peace in the chaos.
“I loved bedtime,” Michelle shared. “Bath at 7, bed at 7:30. That gave me two full hours where no one needed me.” It’s a sentiment Kylie clearly understood, now navigating her own version of that nighttime routine.
Their shared experience of raising daughters while under a spotlight also brought surprising depth to the conversation. Michelle reflected on the toll public life took on her kids and why she’s firmly ruled out a presidential run. “I wanted my girls to grow up without the world watching their every move,” she said. “That’s why I’ll never run.”
Kelce keeps climbing
Though Kylie still jokes about being surprised when guests say yes to her, it’s clear she’s carved out a space where big names feel at home. From vulnerable moments to viral laughs, Not Gonna Lie is building momentum – and Michelle Obama is just the latest win.
“I’m just so grateful,” Kylie said. “It still blows my mind that these conversations are even happening.”
