O Internacional de Roger Machado manteve a sua grande fase nesta quinta-feira (10), ao aplicar 3 a 0 no Atlético Nacional (Colômbia) no Beira-Rio, pela 2ª rodada da fase de grupos da Libertadores. Alan Patrick marcou os três gols do jogo, sendo dois deles de pênalti.
Com o resultado, o Colorado ampliou para 16 jogos a sua invencibilidade, ainda sem derrotas em confrontos oficiais na temporada.
Mesmo com o placar mais elástico, Roger Machado reconheceu as dificuldades que o tradicional time colombiano impôs ao time gaúcho em Porto Alegre.
Deste modo, observou muitas semelhanças do Atlético Nacional com equipes do futebol brasileiro, citando nominalmente o Botafogo.
“O time foi criado em cima dessas características da força. Ano passado, o time que teve o protagonismo no Brasil, que foi o Botafogo, era um time muito forte”, analisou o técnico do Internacional.
“Nós enfrentamos um time muito técnico, parecido com os times brasileiros, muito veloz. Talvez parecido com o time do Botafogo, forte, tão organizado quanto o nosso. Por isso eu busquei fazer os atletas
entenderem que esse era um grande desafio que nós íamos encontrar”, completou.
Durante a entrevista, Roger Machado antecipou sua renovação de contrato. O treinador deverá estender seu vínculo com o Internacional até o fim de 2026 neste fim-de-semana.
“Tá renovando, tá no forno, né, presidente?”, perguntou o técnico ao mandatário colorado Alessandro Barcellos. “Acho que, se tudo der certo, final da semana a gente deve estar assinando um novo momento”, anunciou.
O Internacional lidera o Grupo F da Copa Libertadores ao lado do Bahia com quatro pontos, levando vantagem no saldo de gols. No domingo (13), visita o Fortaleza na Arena Castelão pelo Brasileirão Série A.
