„Na prvních jamkách mi vycházelo úplně všechno. Určitě hned ta první, která tady patří k těm náročnějším,“ uvedl Rose. „Pak i druhá a třetí, po kterých jsem byl tři rány pod parem, mě nakoply a cítil jsem, že hraju skvělý golf,“ dodal.
Rose je po prvním kole v čele Masters už popáté a postaral se tak o nový rekord turnaje, o který se dosud dělil se slavným Jackem Nicklausem. Rose však slavný turnaj ještě nikdy nevyhrál, jeho nejlepším výsledkem jsou druhá místa z let 2015 a 2017.
„Myslím, že v minulosti jsem tady hrál dost dobře na to, abych vyhrál. Jen to nikdy nestačilo na to, abych získal zelené sako,“ dodal olympijský šampion z Ria de Janeiro 2016 Rose, jenž jediný dosavadní titul z majorů získal před dvanácti lety na US Open.
