Florida basketball under Todd Golden: Insiders share transfer portal news, 2025 recruits, roster, top targets

The Florida Gators are back on top of the college basketball world, winning the national championship 18 years after their last title. That previous title, however, came on the second-end of back-to-back championships, so that could be the expectation for Gators fans for the 2025-26 Florida basketball team. In order for Todd Golden to pull off what Billy Donovan did, Golden will have to do it without his three top scorers from last year’s squad. Will Richard, Alijah Martin and NCAA Tourney MOP, Walter Clayton Jr., are all departing seniors, while Alex Condon could test the NBA Draft waters.

The Gators landed three pivotal players from the college basketball transfer portal last year who contributed to their success, and one can expect Golden to scour the portal again this year. He used a 10-man rotation to help the Florida basketball roster win the school’s third national title, so having depth is highly important. If you love the Gators, or want the latest roster updates and college basketball transfer portal news, be sure to see what the proven team of insiders are saying at Swamp247, the 247Sports affiliate that covers Florida.

Florida basketball roster news

A familiar surname in Gainesville, Fla., is the prized incoming recruit for Golden in 2025 via CJ Ingram of Montverde Academy. The son of former UF football star, Cornelius Ingram, CJ is the No. 5 small forward prospect, per 247Sports’ rankings. His arrival comes at an opportune time as Florida’s three known departures were its three starting perimeter players in Clayton, Martin and Richard. The Gators’ incoming freshmen class also includes guard Alex Lloyd, a four-star who is ranked as the No. 40 national prospect.

There are still backcourt minutes to be had, however, which is why the Gators have reached out to point guard Xaivian Lee of Princeton. He was a somewhat late addition to the portal, entering it 11 days after it opened but is the type of player worth waiting for. He ranked in the top eight of the Ivy League in points, rebounds, assists and steals per game last season, which was his second in which he made All-Ivy First-Team. He’s the top uncommitted point guard in the portal and has been contacted by not only Florida but also Duke, Kentucky, UNC and others. Get the latest Florida basketball roster news at Swamp247.

Ravens 2025 NFL Draft Takeaways: A huge class, and one controversial pick

Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta walked briskly into the auditorium at the Baltimore Ravens facility on Saturday night and acknowledged the obvious: “It was a long day.”The Ravens finished an 11-man draft class Saturday by making eight selections and two trades, including one with the New York Jets that improved their positioning on Day 3 of the 2026 Draft.AdvertisementAfter selecting Georgia safety Malaki Starks, Marshall edge rusher Mike Green and LSU offensive lineman Emery Jones Jr. over the first two days, the Ravens used Saturday to add two more offensive linemen, two cornerbacks, a defensive lineman, an inside linebacker, a wide receiver/return specialist and a kicker. When it was (mercifully) over, DeCosta had checked pretty much every box and added to every spot where the Ravens had an obvious need. Fantasy football 2025 NFL Draft player grades: Every pick from Cam Ward to Brashard Smith and more

The 2025 NFL Draft might be done, but the excitement is still bubbling over. It’s time for NFL draft grades for fantasy football. If you haven’t seen this piece from past years, each player gets two grades. The first draft grade is redraft-only value (2025). The second is the player’s dynasty grade/potential.AdvertisementThe draft grades are weighted in tiers of sorts. A’s are your stars — players who can or will become a No. 1 at their position (RB1, TE1, etc.). For B’s, we’re talking about second and some third-tier starters in all leagues. When we get to C’s, those are fringe starters, maybe some boom/bust plays, etc. D’s are waiver wire players with maybe some Best Ball or the rare bye week/matchup play potential. Any player graded lower is a non-factor in fantasy. For those wanting to go deeper, you can […]
