Fans were left scratching their heads this weekend after LSU basketball standout Flau’jae Johnson dropped a cryptic message that has many questioning her future in Baton Rouge.
The junior guard, fresh off her best season yet, sent social media into a frenzy Saturday with a mysterious post on X (formerly Twitter). Accompanied by three photos in her LSU uniform, Johnson simply wrote: “4 out” – adding a crying emoji and a tiger emoji for good measure.
The message had fans speculating wildly. Was it a goodbye? A transfer teaser? Or just a nod to the end of her junior season?
All eyes are on Flau’jae
The intrigue only deepened with an emotional Instagram post where Johnson thanked her fans, reflected on her growth, and offered love to teammates moving on. Most notably, she ended with this bombshell: “Stay tuned for a major announcement soon. 4 junior season out!”
While Johnson previously confirmed she would not be entering the WNBA Draft and planned to return to college for her senior year, insiders say her return to LSU is “not guaranteed.” With the NCAA transfer portal closing on April 23, time is ticking for a decision that could shake up women’s college basketball.
And if she does hit the portal? Expect a bidding war.

Johnson, who averaged a career-high 18.6 points per game this season and helped lead LSU to the Elite Eight, is already the top NIL earner in women’s basketball, with a reported On3 NIL Valuation of $1.5 million. A national champion as a freshman and an AP Third-Team All-American this year, she’d instantly become the hottest name in the transfer market.
For now, all eyes are on Flau’jae’s next move-and fans are anxiously refreshing their feeds, waiting for that “major announcement” to drop.
