„Ronnys Augen blicken skeptisch Richtung Uhr.

How far will Shedeur Sanders fall in NFL Draft? Saints pick Tyler Shough over Colorado QB in Round 2

Getty Images Shedeur Sanders was not selected in the first round of the NFL Draft, and it may be a while until Sanders is picked in the second round (and this is assuming he's picked in Round 2). CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones doesn't know if Sanders will be picked within the first 10 picks of the second round -- which are Nos. 33 to 42. The New Orleans Saints had the No. 40 pick and selected Louisville's Tyler Shough over Sanders, making Shough the third quarterback taken in the draft. So where would Sanders go with Shough off the board? The New York Jets are the No. 42 pick and already have Justin Fields, while the San Francisco 49ers possess the No. 43 pick (and Brock Purdy). The Dallas Cowboys have the 44th pick, making it even more uncertain where Sanders will go. This brings […]

Patriots draft TreVeyon Henderson: Every-down upside with Jahmyr Gibbs-esque explosion means RB1 dreams

Getty Images The New England Patriots continued to build out their offense around franchise quarterback Drake Maye by selecting Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson with the No. 38 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft just two picks after his Buckeye teammate Quinshon Judkins came off the board to the Cleveland Browns. The Patriots drafted offensive lineman Will Campbell in Round 1 and have now provided Maye with a new best friend in the backfield. Henderson joins a backfield that features Rhamondre Stevenson as their incumbent starter, but new offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels has a history of using multiple backs in his offense. McDaniels also has a history of maximizing running backs who have skill sets in the pass game. Henderson is arguably the highest-upside receiving back in this class. On tape, you can find Henderson running double moves on […]

Saints draft Tyler Shough in second round: New Orleans passes on Shedeur Sanders to select 25-year-old QB

Getty Images One of the oldest, yet most intriguing prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft is off the board, as the New Orleans Saints have selected former Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough with the No. 40 overall pick. He was the third quarterback selected this year behind Cam Ward and Jaxson Dart -- and ahead of Shedeur Sanders. Shough played seven seasons of college football and will turn 26 years old during his rookie season, but there were multiple teams who were intrigued with the former Oregon and Texas Tech signal-caller. In fact, one head coach even reportedly said Shough was his No. 1 QB in this class over Cam Ward! Shough completed 62.7% of his passes for 3,195 yards, 23 touchdowns and just six interceptions in 2024. He has a desirable frame at 6-foot-5 and legitimate arm talent as well, but did suffer […]

2025 NFL Draft best prospects available: Shedeur Sanders, Will Johnson, Mike Green headline group

Getty Images The dust is beginning to settle on Day 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft. A few prospects that had been commonly mocked in the first round are still available at the start of Day 2, including Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Miami quarterback Cam Ward was taken No. 1 overall, but the second quarterback was not taken until No. 25 overall when the New York Giants traded up with the Houston Texans to select Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart. In addition to Sanders, Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough and Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe are still available. Coming into the year, Michigan cornerback Will Johnson Jr. and Missouri wide receiver Luther Burden III had been popular choices among the top-10 overall in mock drafts. For different reasons, both of those players are still available for selection on Friday night. Neither is the top prospect […]

2025 NFL Draft: Saints pass on Shedeur Sanders to draft QB Tyler Shough

It has been a while since a 25-year-old had this many jokes made about being too old.Shough, whose first college snaps came back in 2018, had plenty of positive traits but it was also hard to ignore that he turns 26 years old on Sept. 28. He's about a year younger than Jalen Hurts, who just won a Super Bowl MVP. He was in the same high school recruiting class as Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields, Micah Parsons and Patrick Surtain II. Most teams don't want to invest a high draft pick in a player who is that age coming into the draft.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe New Orleans weren't dissuaded. They picked Shough with the 40th pick of the NFL Draft. Notably, they passed on Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders to take Shough.Even though Shough is old for an NFL rookie, he has experience.
