Neste domingo (13), o Fluminense recebe o Santos no estádio do Maracanã, no Rio de Janeiro, às 19h30 (de Brasília), em duelo da terceira rodada do Brasileirão Série A.
Os donos da casa buscam a terceira vitória seguida, enquanto o Peixe, que ainda não venceu na competição, precisa de um resultado positivo para sair da parte de baixo da tabela.
A partida, que terá transmissão ao vivo, deve marcar o retorno de Neymar à equipe santista depois de mais de um mês afastado dos gramados se recuperando de uma contusão na coxa esquerda.
Santos x Fluminense foi semifinal épica do Brasileirão há 30 anos
Em dezembro de 1995, Peixe e Tricolor carioca se enfrentaram no estádio do Pacaembu, em São Paulo, e protagonizaram um dos grandes jogos da história do futebol brasileiro.
Diante de quase 30 mil torcedores (o setor do tobogã estava interditado), os dois times entraram em campo pela segunda e decisiva partida da fase semifinal do Campeonato Brasileiro.
Após ser derrotado no Maracanã pelo placar de 4 x 1 e ter dois jogadores expulsos, o Santos de Giovanni, Macedo, Camanducaia e Marcelo Passos teria que reverter a diferença de três gols no Pacaembu contra o forte time do Fluminense de Vampeta, Valdeir e Renato Gaúcho.
“A diferença de gols era grande, mas aquele nosso time tinha algo diferente, nós tínhamos certeza que iríamos reverter. A confiança que cada atleta tinha um no outro era surreal (…) parecia que não tinha acontecido nada, todos de cabeça erguida. O discurso era de que íamos jogar na nossa casa, com a nossa torcida”, revelou o atacante Camanducaia.
“Deixa que eu faço dois”, foi a promessa “messiânica” do meia Giovanni, então o grande destaque da equipe alvinegra. O ídolo cumpriu sua palavra e o primeiro tempo terminou com vitória santista por 2 x 0.
No intervalo, uma decisão dos jogadores do Santos se tornou emblemática e ficará para sempre na memória de seus torcedores.
Os atletas resolveram não descer para o vestiário e permaneceram no gramado, “energizados” pela vibração dos torcedores santistas, em uma das maiores demonstrações de sinergia entre time e torcida que já se viu no futebol.
No segundo tempo, em jogo dramático, o Santos conseguiu a épica virada sobre o Fluminense por 5 x 2 e avançou às finais do Brasileirão de 1995 para enfrentar o Botafogo.
Os gols foram marcados por Giovanni (duas vezes), Macedo, Camanducaia e Marcelo Passos para o Peixe, e Rogerinho anotou os dois tentos do time carioca.
