Crash, Strafen-Chaos, Emotionen!
Beim fünften Rennen der Saison in Miami wurde den Zuschauern an der Formel-E-Strecke wieder einiges geboten. Titelverteidiger Pascal Wehrlein holt sich seinen ersten Saisonsieg vor Lucas di Grassi (Lola Yamah Abt) und Porsche-Teamkollege Antonio Felix da Costa.
Als Erster über der Ziellinie war Norman Nato von Nissan – doch er erhielt, wie viele weitere, eine Strafe, weil sein Attack Mode nicht komplett genutzt wurde. Schuld war eine späte Rot-Phase nach einer Dreier-Kollission. Auch für Antonio Felix da Costa war das Safety-Car der Party-Crasher.

Antonio Felix da Costa: „Gerade bin ich einfach nur sauer. Aber Regeln sind Regeln. Wir haben heute verloren, weil wir zu gut waren. Wir waren so gut mit der Energie unterwegs, dass ich meinen Attack Mode auf aggressive Art aufteilen konnte. Dann kam das Safety-Car raus. Man fliegt hier her, hatten das perfekte Rennen und verliert dann das Rennen. Es ist immer noch Platz 3 aber es tut ein bisschen weh.“
Wehrlein: „Es war ein super chaotisches Rennen. Ich weiß gar nicht recht, was ich sagen soll. Ich hatte am Ende natürlich ein bisschen Glück mit dem Safety-Car, um ehrlich zu sein. Aber ich glaube, wir hatten zuletzt genug Pech – da können wir auch mal Glück haben.“ Und weiter: „Mein Team hat mich informiert, wer noch sechs Minuten hatte. Mir war also bewusst, dass Nato noch eine Strafe erhalten würde. Ich wollte trotzdem gern als Erster über die Linie fahren und habe es versucht.“
Lucas di Grassi: „Wir sind mit einem guten Qualifying gestartet und dann war es eine Kombination aus guter Strategie und im richtigen Moment am richtigen Platz zu sein. Mit dem Attack Mode hat alles gut funktioniert. Ich freue mich für das ganze Team, wir haben so hart gearbeitet. Das gibt uns einen tollen Boost für den Rest der Saison.“

In drei Wochen ist die Formel E in Monaco zu Gast. Dort startet am 3. und 4. Mai ein Doppel-Rennen.
