Trůn pro krále. UFC oslavuje šampiona, nekompromisní jízda rozjeté hvězdy

V podání Volkanovskiho to ale nebyla nikterak suverénní jízda. Jihoamerický vyzyvatel Diego Lopes po prospaném úvodu pořádně přitápěl pod kotlem, a tak se z postojové bitvy se vyklubal náročná šichta, jenž na Australanovi zanechala nemalé krvavé stopy. Sympatický výkon muže s dlouhou hřívou na hlavě utlumila až efektivita úderů. „Je skvělé být zpátky!“ radoval se dřívější dlouholetý vládce pérové divize, jehož teprve loni sesadil Ilia Topuria, který uvolnil titul kvůli přechodu do vyšší váhové kategorie.

„Svým holkám doma jsem slíbil, že jim přinesu pás zpátky, ale pak jsem obrátil a řekl, že nezáleží, zda se mi to povede. Hodně lidí mě totiž odepisovalo,“ mrzelo Volkanovskiho. „A to, že jsem dnes porazil Diega Lopese, je pro mě fantastické. Neuvěřitelný moment,“ dojímal se někdejší král žebříčku napříč všemi váhami.

A tak šestatřicetiletý hvězdný bijec mohl znovu vystoupat na královský trůn, když o svém vítězství přesvědčil všechny bodové rozhodčí. Lopes podle oficiálních statistik vypustil zhruba o polovinu méně ran a nepomohl mu ani fakt, že ještě před závěrečným vyhlašováním sám sebe považoval za vítěze. „Byla čest si to s Alexandrem rozdat. Teď budu dál trénovat a stanu se šampionem,“ neskládá zbraně.

Zas a znovu. Rozjetý Angličan Paddy Pimblett se tradičně zaskvěl. Nyní si připsal největší kariérní skalp, když si doslova smlsnul na americkém veteránovi Michaelu Chandlerovi. Působivou práci dokonale završil ve třetím kole, kdy zkrvaveného a značně rozbitého soka drtivě utloukl na zemi a radostně mohl vyskočit na klec. „Takhle já prostě vyhrávám. Naplánuji si to, zároveň používám bojové IQ a porážím tyhle hajzly. Má někdo další otázku?“ pobavil se Pimblett.

Rodák z Liverpoolu pochopitelně vyletí žebříčkem lehké váhy, kde mu před zápasem patřila dvanáctá pozice. V zámoří se už dokonce spekuluje o okamžité bitvě o titul, který je v moci ruského šampiona Islama Machačeva. „Chci kohokoli z první čtyřky či pětky. Chci titul!“ přiznal a přesto zmínil jméno vysněného protivníka.

„Chci Dustina Poiriera. Vážím si ho, je to legenda a říká se, že je to nejlepší bojovník na submise, kterého UFC kdy mělo. Já si to ale nemyslím. Jsem tady a chci si to s ním dát,“ nasměřoval Pimblett pozornost na dvojnásobného přemožitele Conora McGregora.

Fanoušky potěšil také Brazilec Jean Silva. Účinným škrcením si totiž vyšlápl na kontroverzního muže UFC Bryce Mitchella, jenž v minulosti nejednou prezentoval své poněkud zvláštní názory. Adolfa Hitlera například označil za dobrého chlapa, zpochybnil existenci holokaustu či dokonce tvrdil, že Země je plochá. Američan před zraky diváků odklepal nápor na vlastní krk, s nímž Jihoameričan začal už vestoje u pletiva.

„Je mi ho líto. Modlím se za na něj, protože si nemyslím, že to Bryce má v hlavě v pořádku. Já jsem další šampion!“ vykřikl osmadvacetiletý hrdina a pokračuje tak ve spanilé jízdě. V UFC nadále čeká na úvodního přemožitele, když vyhrál i popáté v řadě. Také teď se mu to vydařilo před koncem časového limitu.

Zle nedobře dopadl rodilý Ukrajinec Nikita Krylov, jemuž organizace po osmnácti měsících od posledního souboje vyšla vstříc a k jeho jménu přilepila ruskou vlajku. To bylo ale v podání rodáka z Doněcku takřka vše podstatné. Američan Dominick Reyes senzačně z ústupu načasoval drtivou ránu, jíž rozhodl. K. O. po 144 vteřinách! Polotěžká váha, v níž figuruje i český bijec Jiří Procházka, se tak dočká dalšího otřesu.

Pozornost si na turnaji v Miami vysloužil také americký prezident Donald Trump, blízký přítel šéfa UFC Dany Whitea, který se tradičně posadil blízko kleci, kde nejednou potleskem ocenil souboje v kleci.
