Macej Gebala (31), Kreisläufer und Abwehrkoloss des HC Erlangen in der Handball-Bundesliga wird zum 3. Mal Papa. Seine Ehefrau schenkt ihm im Sommer das zweite Mädchen. Der polnische Nationalspieler glücklich: „Anfang Juli wird es so weit sein. Ein richtiges Erlanger Baby. Die beiden anderen Kinder sind ja Leipziger.“

Gebala wechselte letzten Sommer nach sechs Jahren vom SC DHfK Leipzig nach Erlangen. In der Sachsen-Metropole wurden die Kinder Nikolas (5) und Kiara (17 Monate) geboren.

In Familie Gebala werden somit künftig die Mädels in der Mehrzahl sein. Gebala lacht: „Das ist gut so. Ich habe drei Brüder, da ist das ein guter Ausgleich.“ Und dann voller Respekt: „Wenn ich weg bin und meine Frau alleine ist – schwanger und mit zwei Kids – dann ist das nicht die leichteste Aufgabe.“
[–>Das nächste Auswärtsspiel steht bereits vor der Tür. Am Donnerstag muss er mit Erlangen beim ThSV Eisenach ran. Für den HCE, aktuell noch Vorletzter der Bundesliga und akut abstiegsgefährdet, geht es auch da wieder um viel.

Gebala: „Ich bin mir ziemlich sicher, dass wir den Klassenerhalt schaffen. Der Klub hat richtig großes Potenzial, um viel besser zu sein, als wo wir aktuell sind. Es wäre richtig schade für den ganzen deutschen Handball, wenn das nicht klappen würde. Deshalb müssen wir auch alles investieren, um drinzubleiben.“

Er selbst hat auch nur Vertrag für die 1. Liga. Die will er auch deshalb erhalten: „Wir haben für unsere Tochter endlich einen Kindergartenplatz 100 Meter von unserem Zuhause weg bekommen. Da wechselt meine Tochter zum 1. Mai hin. Es wäre schade, wenn wir nach einem Monat wieder wechseln müssten.“
Er sagt deshalb: „Wenn wir am Ende mit einem Tor Differenz in der Bundesliga bleiben, dann unterschreibe ich das sofort.“ Denn auch das zweite Mädchen soll natürlich als Bundesliga-Baby auf die Welt kommen.
