Vanderlei Luxemburgo ficou muito famoso desde a década de 1990 por ajudar a formar grandes elencos pelas equipes que passou ao longo da carreira. A experiência o coloca como uma voz importante na definição de qual clube tem o melhor elenco no futebol brasileiro da atualidade.
Na visão do treinador de 72 anos, o Flamengo está no topo dos melhores elencos de jogadores no Brasil.
“O Flamengo tem um elenco forte e versátil. Não tem só o time, mas o banco é forte e os jogadores são versáteis. O Gerson joga nas três posições do meio de campo”, destacou Luxemburgo, durante participação no programa Galvão e Amigos desta semana, na Band.
O time carioca lidera o Brasileirão, com sete pontos.
Fla tem vantagem?
Ainda de acordo com o treinador, o grupo de atletas do Rubro-Negro é muito homogêneo e não perde qualidade mesmo quando vários titulares ficam de fora, seja por suspensão ou eventual lesão.
“O Flamengo tem uma vantagem sobre as outras equipes que ele não enfraquece o time de um jogo para o outro com perda de jogadores, porque a versatilidade faz com que eles se completem”, concluiu Luxemburgo.
Apesar da idade avançada, Luxa garante que não está aposentado e aguarda algum convite tentador para voltar à beira dos gramados no comando de algum time.
Luxemburgo sinaliza que gostaria de voltar ao Cruzeiro
Em entrevista recente ao CNN Esportes S/A, Luxa deixou escapar que não gostaria de ter saído do Cruzeiro quando Ronaldo Fenômeno comprou o clube em 2021 e que seria muito interessante dirigir a equipe agora comandada pelo empresário Pedro Lourenço, o Pedrinho BH.
Ao revelar se tinha mágoa por não ter sido o escolhido para seguir na Raposa quando a equipe foi comprada por Ronaldo Fenômeno, Luxemburgo acabou indicando que teria prazer em voltar ao comando do clube agora com Pedrinho como proprietário.
“Não, de jeito nenhum (guarda mágoa). É um direito que ele (Ronaldo) tem, ele que tinha pessoas para colocar para para a gestão, ele entendeu dessa forma sem mágoa, zero de mágoa. O mais importante para mim foi que aquele momento era muito difícil do Cruzeiro, muito difícil. O Pedrinho do BH, dono do Cruzeiro, foi fantástico. Ele deu a condição para que nós não deixássemos o time cair, que quase nós subimos ainda”, disse Luxemburgo.
“E o Pedrinho foi um dos caras que chegou e assumiu junto comigo e tudo que ele acordou comigo, ele cumpriu, e nós não fomos para a Terceira Divisão, e podíamos até ter tido o acesso. O Ronaldo tirou porque achou que tinha que tirar. Eu gostaria de ter ficado. (…) Agora, depois de sair o Ronaldo e entrando Pedrinho, muito mais ainda. Tenho uma amizade com ele muito boa”, admitiu Luxa.
