Die 0:4-Bürde aus dem Hinspiel war zu groß gegen den spanischen Spitzenklub FC Barcelona. Der BVB scheidet mit einem 3:1 im Rückspiel aus. Die Spanier ziehen ins Halbfinale der Königsklasse ein.
