Simone Biles has once again found herself in the global spotlight, this time not for a gravity-defying performance, but for her undeniable influence beyond the mat.
The Olympic legend has been named one of TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2025, earning a place in the esteemed “Titans” category.

Raisman praises Biles in TIME 100 salute
The honor reflects both her unparalleled athletic accomplishments and her growing impact as an advocate for mental health and athlete empowerment.
Among the voices celebrating Biles’ achievement is Aly Raisman, her former Olympic teammate and close friend.
The two were part of the famed “Final Five” at the 2016 Rio Olympics, where they helped secure team gold and individually dominated podiums.
Raisman’s tribute, published as part of the TIME feature, offered a heartfelt reflection on Biles’ journey, one marked by both soaring success and profound courage.
“Simone has faced – and withstood – mounting expectations, pressures, and adversity, which seem to intensify each year,” Raisman wrote.
“Through it all, she has embraced her vulnerability, while refusing to let it define or limit her.”
Raisman’s words served as a reminder that Biles’ legacy isn’t just measured in medals, though she has 11 Olympic ones, including seven golds, but in the strength she’s shown off the mat.
During the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Biles famously withdrew from several events to prioritize her mental health, sparking a global conversation about well-being in elite sports.
“She is both deeply human and undeniably superhuman,” Raisman added, “a combination that makes her impact profound.”
This isn’t the first time Biles has been featured in TIME’s influential rankings; she was also named a Titan in 2021.
Alongside her on this year’s list are fellow American female athletes Serena Williams, Breanna Stewart, and Napheesa Collier, underscoring the growing role of women in shaping not just sports, but culture at large.
While Biles has not confirmed a return to competition, she continues to influence from behind the scenes through media projects and advocacy work.
