Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says that goalkeeper Ederson will miss his side’s Premier League clash with Everton on Sunday.
The Brazil international was substituted 71 minutes into City’s 5-2 win over Crystal Palace with what appeared to be a groin issue on Saturday and was replaced by Stefan Ortega. He provided the assist for City’s fourth goal with a ball over the top for James McAtee.

Guardiola said that he does not know the extent of Ederson’s injury, but said in his pre-match press conference on Friday that the goalkeeper is “not ready for tomorrow.”
Ortega, who has made 17 appearances in all competitions this campaign, is likely to once again replace Ederson in the City net.
Prior to Saturday, Ederson had sustained three separate injuries that have caused him to miss a total of eight games this season, most recently an abdominal issue that sidelined him for the second half of March.
The 31-year-old missed last summer’s Copa America after sustaining a fractured eye socket in a 2-0 Premier League win over Tottenham Hotspur in May.
Ederson has appeared 33 times in all competitions for City this season, keeping nine clean sheets, and has recorded four assists in the league.
Guardiola also confirmed that Phil Foden and Manuel Akanji have returned to training. Foden missed the game against Palace after sustaining an ankle injury in 0-0 draw against city rivals Manchester United on April 6.
Akanji has been out since February after undergoing surgery on an adductor injury. Guardiola did not rule out the possibility of the defender being involved tomorrow and said that he was “moving really well” in training.
John Stones and Nathan Ake remain sidelined with hamstring and foot injuries respectively.
