V 16. minutě první třetiny se zjevila před brankou, bouchla do puku a aniž by viděla jeho let, tak obrovský řev v aréně jí vše prozradil. „Díky tomu jsem věděla, že jsem dala gól. Musím se na to sama podívat,“ vyprávěl Plosová po utkání. „Byl to takový náhoďáček. Hymla (Hymlárová) tam udělala skvělý forček a nahrála mi to před bránu. Jen jsem to nahodila a spadlo to tam. Žádný výstavní gól to úplně nebyl.“
Američanky její trefa zaskočila. Češky do poloviny zápasu držely vedení, následně dalších 20 minut panoval vyrovnaný stav. Až ve 49. minutě přidaly Američanky druhý – a jak se později ukázalo – i vítězný gól. „Sklouzla mi tam nahrávka, sjelo mi to z hokejky, takže jsem jí nahrála do vyššího slotu. To nebylo úplně nejlepší. Daly z toho gól, což mě hrozně mrzí. Takže nad touto situací budu přemýšlet ještě hodně dlouho,“ přiznala Plosová.
Tým zkoušel při závěrečné power play srovnat krok, ale Američanky si postup do finále už pohlídaly.

„Bylo tam hodně emocí, jak pozitivní, tak i smutek. Přece jen nás to všechny hrozně mrzí. Ale musíme to hodit za hlavu, protože zítra náš čeká důležitý zápas. Určitě chceme všechny medaili, takže do toho dáme maximum. Máme pár hodin na odpočinek navíc, to je výhoda. My toho využijeme nejlépe, jak můžeme. Dáme nějaký výklus, pak se dobře najíme a půjdeme spát, abychom byly na zítra ready,“ řekla Plosová.
