Jalen Hurts has had a spectacular 2025 so far: the Philadelphia Eagles blew out the Kansas City Chiefs at Super Bowl LIX to make a statement that they are the best team in the NFL.
The former Alabama Crimson Tide and Oklahoma Sooner standout was named Super Bowl‘s Most Valuable Player after completing 17 of 22 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns in the 40-22 championship win.
A bad man! Jalen Hurts showcases intense workout that competes with Patrick Mahomes routine
And a couple of days ago, the Houston native was named by Time as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World, with five-time World Series Champion and baseball Hall of Famer Derek Jater praising Jalen and highlighting his dedication and discipline.
Hurts take a shot at Patrick Mahomes with workout video
Jalen Hurts posted a video on social media where he shows his intense workout routine and his hunger for more championships and accolades. The quarterback wants to put his name on the list of the best players to ever do it and in order to do so, he must match Patrick Mahomes‘ three Super Bowls, including three SB MVPs.
The video could be a shot at Mahomes‘ Instagram videos posted recently, in which the former Texas Tech Red Raider shows that he’s not slowing down anytime soon with an intense training session, featuring explosive agility drills, heavy lifting, and precision footwork.
Even though Hurts outperformed Mahomes, some analysts and fans argue that he’s not yet considered an elite quarterback by the same standards as players like Mahomes, Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Burrow, Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen, and Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson.
Jalen Hurts’ road to greatness is looking great
Jalen Hurts became just the seventh quarterback in NFL history to appear in multiple Super Bowls and win one in his first five seasons. The others are Patrick Mahomes, New York Giants Russell Wilson, Pittsburgh Steelers Ben Roethlisberger, and legendary New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tom Brady.
Since 2022, when Hurts was a finalist for the NFL’s MVP Award while leading the Eagles to Super Bowl LVII, he has an outstanding winning percentage of .787, has accounted for 105 total touchdowns (including a league-best 52 rushing scores), and is one of only four quarterbacks with 10,000 total yards and 100 total touchdowns in that span.
Jalen Hurts is also the global flag football ambassador for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, where men’s and women’s flag football will debut as medal events. The future is very bright for the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback as he sets himself for success.
