The Kansas City Chiefs had a season full of ups and downs, yet once in the playoffs, they were simply dominant and once again conquered the AFC. However, in the Super Bowl, they hit a wall and were crushed 40-22 by the Philadelphia Eagles, led by Jalen Hurts, who earned the MVP honors.
For now, the Chiefs remain the clear favorites in the AFC to return to the NFL’s biggest game and face off once again against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl – the heavy favorites once again in the NFC. A trilogy between the Chiefs and Eagles for the Vince Lombardi Trophy could be on the horizon.

The two most important positions on any NFL team are well covered by the Chiefs. At quarterback, they simply have the best in the league: Patrick Mahomes. And at head coach, they have Andy Reid, one of the best and most experienced in the game.
Zoltan Buday of Pro Football Focus stated that the Chiefs have the third-largest Super Bowl window in the entire NFL. He suggests that despite the remaining gaps in the roster, this is still a very solid organization.
“Inarguably, the Chiefs’ Super Bowl window will be open as long as they have Patrick Mahomes under center and Andy Reid on the sideline,” said Buday.
“However, the state of the supporting cast prevents them from being ranked higher on this list. While tight end Travis Kelce still played more than 1,000 snaps across the 2024 regular season and playoffs, he is no longer an elite difference-maker, as shown by his 71.7 overall PFF grade last season, which ranked him 13th among tight ends. Similarly, although interior defender Chris Jones was the highest-graded player at his position (90.2) in 2024, he will turn 31 before the season starts – a potential concern for Kansas City’s defense.”
The reality is that the Chiefs will remain contenders, but they might need to find a new weapon for Patrick Mahomes in the draft to once again make their offense one of the most feared in the league, with explosive plays – something that was severely lacking last season.
