

Quinn Sullivan scored his first goal of the season and also assisted on a goal by Tai Baribo as the Philadelphia Union earned a 3-0 victory over Atlanta United in Chester, Pa., on Saturday.
Danley Jean Jacques also scored for Philadelphia (5-3-1, 16 points), which posted its first victory since a 1-0 win over St. Louis City on March 22. The Union’s three goals were their most since netting four on March 1. Andre Blake finished with three saves in goal for Philadelphia.
Atlanta (2-4-3, nine points) fell for a second straight week and has been shut out in four of its nine matches. United held possession for 58.8 percent of the game but mustered only three shots on goal.
Philadelphia found the back of the net in the 27th minute, as Sullivan’s right-footed strike from the center of the box accounted for the only offense of the half.
Atlanta held possession for nearly 66 percent of the first half, but recorded only one shot on goal.
Five minutes into the second half, Mikael Uhre found Jean Jacques for another Philadelphia goal, as the second-year player tallied his first score of the season.
Philadelphia’s Jovan Lukic was sent off in the 56th after receiving his second yellow card, this one for delaying a restart.
Frustration further boiled over for Atlanta in the second half, as Emmanuel Latte Lath was given a yellow card in the 68th minute.
Atlanta had a pair of chances in the 76th and 77th minutes, when Saba Lobjanidze’s shot hit a post and Alexey Miranchuk’s header came up empty.
Philadelphia then cemented the victory with Baribo’s team-leading seventh goal in the 84th minute, assisted by Sullivan.
The clubs will meet again on May 17 in Atlanta.
