O empate em 0 a 0 passou longe de indicar um clássico ruim ontem no Maracanã. Muito pelo contrário: Vasco e Flamengo disputaram uma partida bem mais equilibrada do que se esperava, num momento de forte pressão sobre o técnico cruz-maltino, Fábio Carille, e de tentativa do rubro-negro de decolar no Brasileirão. Os goleiros Léo Jardim, melhor em campo com uma atuação irretocável, e Rossi foram os destaques, parando as melhores chances de bola na rede com grandes intervenções ao longo dos 90 minutos.

Jardim viveu uma dessas grandes noites a que o torcedor se acostumou nos últimos anos. Salvou a pátria ao fazer pelo menos três grandes defesas, fora outras intervenções seguras. Ele parou uma cabeçada perigosa de Gerson, no momento em que o Flamengo começou a se lançar mais no primeiro tempo, e foi determinante na etapa final. As respostas às cabeçadas de Pedro e Plata foram alguns de seus principais lances no ano.
— Fico feliz de poder ajudar. O jogo foi como um clássico tem que ser, muito disputado, muito aberto. Tivemos oportunidade de fazer o gol, de ganhar a partida. E eu estou lá para o que a equipe precisar, é para isso que trabalho e me dedico todos os dias — declarou o goleiro cruz-maltino.
De maneira geral, o Flamengo foi superior, até pelo elenco que o técnico Filipe Luís possui. Mas não conseguiu encaixar o último passe ou superar o goleiro adversário nas bolas aéreas. O Vasco soube se equiparar durante os 90 minutos, forçando o rival a arriscar chutes de longe, e encontrou contra-ataques perigosos.
Ao contrário do que o momento poderia sugerir em termos de estratégia, Carille escalou Vegetti, Nuno Moreira, Rayan e Philippe Coutinho como quarteto de frente. O time todo fez bons 15 minutos iniciais e até se arriscou a marcar com pressão alta na defesa adversária, uma aposta de alto risco pela diferença física.
Depois disso, o cruz-maltino não foi capaz de sustentar a estratégia e recuou, chegando a oferecer muitas brechas na frente da área, mas contou com o desencontro ofensivo adversário para resistir. No segundo tempo, Vegetti voltou a acertar a trave em lance peculiar: finalizou com a mão.
Do outro lado, o Flamengo lamenta novamente o bom punhado de chances desperdiçadas, tônica deste início de Brasileirão, que só viu uma exceção na goleada por 6 a 0 sobre o Juventude, no meio da última semana. Era um jogo que esperava vencer, até pela força máxima colocada em campo.
No geral, o clássico passou muito pelos pés de Gerson e Michael, mas eles eram incapazes de acertar o último passe. Bruno Henrique, titular pela primeira vez após ter sido indiciado pela Polícia Federal por envolvimento em caso de apostas, sequer apareceu nos lances. Esta desconfiguração na frente não permitiu que o rubro-negro aproveitasse as brechas dadas pelo rival.
No fim do jogo, Filipe voltou a apelar para o empilhamento de atacantes na frente, algo que não vem sendo difícil de testemunhar, mesmo em uma boa fase. Entraram Pedro, Plata, Cebolinha… e o jogo de tentativa e erro não foi suficiente para furar a aguerrida e eficiente defesa cruz-maltina.
Nesta terça-feira, às 19h, o Flamengo volta a jogar pela Libertadores, em dura visita à LDU, no Equador. No mesmo dia, às 21h30, o Vasco tem um desafio contra o Lanús-ARG, em São Januário, pela Copa Sul-Americana.
