Nome de expressão na história da seleção brasileira, Cafu acredita que o país ostenta profissionais gabaritados para assumir o escrete no próximo ciclo de Copa do Mundo, ao invés de buscar um nome estrangeiro.
Em entrevista divulgada nesta segunda-feira (21), o penta manteve o discurso de dar preferência para técnicos brasileiros e citou que Rogério Ceni, Renato Gaúcho ou Roger Machado poderiam ser acionados pela CBF, uma vez que possuem trabalhos sólidos no Brasil.
“Acho legal vocês me perguntarem do Ancelotti, mas ninguém me pergunta do Rogério Ceni, do Renato Gaúcho e do Roger (Machado), que são grandes treinadores brasileiros, que vêm fazendo um grande trabalho no futebol brasileiro”, disse Cafu.
“É óbvio que o nome é o Ancelotti, todo mundo fala, mas o que seria mais ideal é que nosso presidente vir à público e, claramente, definir quem será o técnico, até para não gerar tanta dúvida”, cobrou o ex-lateral.

Apesar de ter a preferência por um treinador brasileiro no comando da seleção brasileira, Cafu não deixou de enaltecer o currículo de Carlo Ancelotti, com teve uma passagem vitoriosa no Milan, e considera ser um profissional apto para o cargo deixado por Dorival Júnior
“Trabalhei com o Ancelotti cinco anos no Milan, foi maravilhoso. Ele não é só um treinador, é um amigo, um pai, que entende de futebol. É um treinador vencedor, por onde passou venceu. Caso a CBF decida por ele, vai estar em boas mãos”, comentou o pentacampeão.
