„Ich habe mir das vordere Kreuzband und den Meniskus im Knie gerissen und es steht mir eine lange Handballpause bevor“, schreibt Simic auf seinem Instagram-Account, auf dem unter anderem auch Stefan Kretzschmar („Gute Besserung“) und Leipzigs Torwart-Kollege Domenico Ebner („Gute Besserung, Simo“) antworteten.

Weiter schreibt er: „Vor mir liegt die größte Herausforderung, der ich mich bis jetzt gestellt habe. Aber der Schmerz wird mich nicht vom Ziel abhalten, und das ist stärker zurückzukommen und meinem Team zu helfen, sobald ich kann. Nun ist es an der Zeit, mein Kampfgesicht wieder zu zeigen.“
