In the latest episode of her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder, Meghan Markle gave listeners a peek into her personal and professional world revealing not only more about her inner circle but also her business journey and decisions.
While chatting with Kadi Lee, the co-founder of haircare brand Highbrow Hippie, Meghan shared how close Lee has become with her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

“Our kids love Auntie Kadi,” Meghan said with warmth. “It’s just our favorite when they run out, your car, it’s like ‘Kadi!'”
Lee, who affectionately refers to herself as “Super Aunt,” added, “I know, I feel like I look for them first!”
Meghan and Lee have built a tight-knit relationship since first meeting in 2020, and the hair stylist is now more than just a beauty expert in the duchess’s life. She’s a cherished figure in her children’s day-to-day world-earning that affectionate “auntie” title, even without a blood relation.
This isn’t the first time Meghan has bestowed the ‘auntie’ label on a close friend. Last month, she referred to tennis icon Serena Williams as Lilibet‘s “auntie” in an Instagram post.
Yet, noticeably absent from such mentions is Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, who is Archie and Lilibet‘s actual aunt by marriage. The Princess met Archie shortly after his birth in 2019, but it’s unclear if she has ever met Lilibet, who was born in June 2021.
When asked at the time about the possibility of meeting her niece, Kate had said: “I can’t wait to meet her. We haven’t met her yet. I hope that will be soon.”
Meghan reflects on motherhood, friendship, and a lifestyle brand rebrand
Lee, who has no children of her own, expressed on the podcast that she still hopes to become a stepmother one day.
“I’m still holding out hope I might be a step-mama one day,” she said. “But for right now I’m just Super Aunt!”
Meghan, who invested in Lee’s brand Highbrow Hippie last November, also spoke candidly during the episode about the evolution of her own business venture. Initially titled American Riviera Orchard, Meghan said the name didn’t quite sit right.
“I didn’t love that so much,” Meghan admitted. “Suddenly it became this word salad.”
